Stay Strong!

While Last Week was a Challenging week, this week it was all about how staying strong through these challenging times can help move forward. I learnt that if we Stay Strong, keep our mind focused, our heart open to love, and continue to put one foot in front of the other, we can recover the pieces, rebuild, and come back much stronger and happier. I learnt that finding peace and happiness in life does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, no challenges, and no hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things while remaining calm in our hearts. It’s about letting go of the pictures in our head about how things were “supposed to be.” I know Staying Strong takes a lot of effort and a lot of courage. Staying Strong for me means taking those small steps, little leaps, and tiny fixes (very small repetitive changes) every day that will get us there, through thick and thin. I have experienced that when we are Strong there is a balance and harmony among our thoughts emotio...

This, Too, Shall Pass!

The week gone by was a challenging week for me. It was a week of holding on, revisiting the past, and imagining the future. It was as if time had stopped. I stepped out of my current life and into a world where everything was in flux. While it was not always an easy week, it was an important one. I was reminded that whatever happens to us as we go through life is just what is happening to us in that moment. The “moment” might last for a day or a week, or it might be a chapter in our lives. Yet what struck me so profoundly was that nothing about our lives and circumstances is permanent. This week I again learned to choose and not to let difficult experiences or circumstances define who I am or the life I will like to lead. I learned to accept what has happened, work through it, make my peace with it, and move on. I learned again that We all will face challenges from time to time. And when these challenges arise, we need time and space for healing and finding our way forward. Yet if w...

Do Good!

In the last few weeks, I had the opportunity to meet a lot of people who have been doing work for the Good of people. With so much of negativity going around meeting these people who are doing good was a welcome change. One of the views which stuck with me was that when we see negativity around us, one of the many ways to counter it is to keep doing good. I tried to look into what's the meaning of Good as all have their own view of Good too. One I could relate to was that Good means a lack of self-centeredness. It means the ability to empathize with other people and to feel compassion for them. It means being able to see beyond the superficial difference of race, gender, or nationality and relate to a common human essence beneath them. Most people whom I met, do good work do so in spite of the circumstances. They are inspired by the energy that comes from what they do, and not what they get in return. And while we may not believe in an inter-connected universe that rewards good ...

Life is all about choices we make!

This week's last two days were spent by us formulating Strategy for the Year 2020 of our Startups in our Monthly Strategy Review Meet. New Year, New Beginning, New Choices to be made. I again learned that Strategy we all agreed for the year in our review was all about making choices. We chose among many choices that existed for us and that will dictate what we will do and more importantly what we will NOT do during the Year. The choices we made will also determine the allocation of our resources, capital, bandwidth, etc during the Year. I know the most difficult part for us will be the discipline of sticking to the chosen options and not stray during the year. On the personal front also like every year, this year too like most of us I have also made goals at the starting of the year. However, the Difference probably I can make this year is to make the right choices. I believe If I choose to confront the options before me with courage and confidence, I will try to open myself to ...
