Do Good!

In the last few weeks, I had the opportunity to meet a lot of people who have been doing work for the Good of people. With so much of negativity going around meeting these people who are doing good was a welcome change. One of the views which stuck with me was that when we see negativity around us, one of the many ways to counter it is to keep doing good. I tried to look into what's the meaning of Good as all have their own view of Good too. One I could relate to was that Good means a lack of self-centeredness. It means the ability to empathize with other people and to feel compassion for them. It means being able to see beyond the superficial difference of race, gender, or nationality and relate to a common human essence beneath them.

Most people whom I met, do good work do so in spite of the circumstances. They are inspired by the energy that comes from what they do, and not what they get in return. And while we may not believe in an inter-connected universe that rewards good deeds, there is something to be said about how doing good to others changes our perspective. Our Startup Jeevitam helps people find their Livelihood, which is in a way doing good for others. I have experienced when we’re doing good to others, we will often feel better about ourselves, increasing the likelihood that our next experience will be a positive one.

I was recently asked why I want to Do Good for others? My answer was that it was my way of Giving Back for what I have received in life. I believe giving gives us purpose. And when we have a purpose-driven life, we are a happier person. When we do good for someone, they will be more likely to help us. This is the basic, unspoken agreement that fuels nearly every move. Doing Good to others is a great way to feel better about ourselves. Seeing a smile or even tears of joy makes it all worth it. It’s as simple as that.

Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!🏃🏽😊
