Being Compassionate!

The present ongoing crisis has brought into focus the compassionate side of many of us. We have seen the heart-warming stories of people reaching out to the less fortunate abound during the ongoing pandemic. Across India, many Philanthropy Organizations & Individuals have been at the forefront of charity work. From donating home-cooked meals to migrant workers to offering financial support to daily wage workers, many came forward in this crisis and contributed their bit. In times of crisis like the present one, compassion has unified us all. Since the onset of the ongoing crisis, Saving Lives and Saving Livelihood has been the focus of all. Our Startup Jeevitam, a Livelihood Platform for the vulnerable segments of society, has suddenly come into center stage. We have been working with Government Bodies, Industry Associations, and Philanthropy Organizations to help vulnerable segments find Sustainable Livelihood for their Security & Dignity. While working with many of these...

Get Back Up Again

I have been having a lot of conversations on a daily basis with many on the contours of the Present Ongoing Crisis. One theme which is emerging that there is certainly a lot of stress out there with so much uncertainty going on. Many have taken a severe beating in their business, many are struggling with the constant changes in their life and many fear the disease. This crisis has affected us all in some way. However, how we are coping up with the downfall is not the same for everyone. Few are still trying to get back & waiting. However, few have Got Back Up Again from their fall and are becoming Champion of their Work & Life. A champion is defined not by their wins but by how they can recover when they fall. ~ Serena Williams. Whenever I read the above quote, I always remember my Business Partner for over seven years, Sridhar. I believe he is a True Champion, as I have seen him get up every time he has fallen down. In the last nine months, he has fought through a difficult med...

Never Give or Take Any Excuse!

I have been in Sales for many years and for any Sales Person Targets are part of Life. Every Time the Targets were achieved, there was only one Statement that Targets have been achieved. And when Targets were not achieved, there were always reasons and lengthy Presentations. I believe because of this ongoing crisis many in someway have fallen behind whatever they have been doing before the onset of the crisis. And they all have genuine reasons & valid assumptions for lagging behind or not doing well. While some of us have changed with the rapidly changing times, seized the opportunities emerging out of the crisis, and are probably doing better than many. And they all have only one statement that They Do Not Give or Take Any Excuse. I attribute my success to this:—I never gave or took any excuse.~ Florence Nightingale. I think the above quote has become so relevant in today's context. I believe our complaints, our victim mentality, our whining, our blaming, and all of our excuse...

Look At the Bright Side!

This week while speaking to one of my friends who is an Entrepreneur himself, asked me a question as to what's the difference between an Entrepreneur & a Startuprenure? I told him that to my mind there is only one Big Difference and that is a Startuprenure delves into Unchartered Waters & tries to create something which does not exist. Startuprenure questions the status quo and look for solutions that will make things better/efficient. And that is not easy at all as while doing so Startuprenure faces so much resistance to change which he is trying to bring in. Also while doing so one thing he has to learn very fast is to Always Remain Positive and Look at the Bright Side. We've all heard it before: "Stay positive, look on the bright side — don't let things get you down." The fact of the matter is it's easier said than done. I have observed since the onset of the present ongoing crisis, initially fear of unknown froze Everyone, they got solace seeing e...
