It’s Not Too Late!
Is there something you’ve always wanted to do or be but haven’t done anything about? Or maybe you tried to, but ended up quitting and swearing it off as impossible? What comes to mind? I think people are more interested in the “idea” of becoming or doing something they want than the actual execution of it. They’re more in love with the dream than putting in the hard work necessary to bring it to fruition. They’d rather be inspired than be the inspiration. While the motivation behind this wishful thinking varies, I think it mainly stems from the notion that we think it’s too late. That we missed the boat, and another one isn’t coming to pick us up. That we’re stuck doing whatever it is we’re doing right now and can’t change. That’s a bunch of crap. You can always change. You can always reinvent. It’s never too late!
We are great at negative self-talk. These are all valid feelings, but every single one of them is addressable if you care enough to want to make a change. “The Resistance.” Many of us default to reasons why we can’t do something instead of reasons why we can. Excuses bury us and promote inaction.
I’ve always enjoyed learning about the stories of famous men and women who didn’t achieve large success until later in life. These stories give me hope that my best days are ahead of me, and I hope they inspire you too.
Yes, it’s true that some people don’t figure out what they really want until later in life. That might even happen to you. However, I encourage you to think about what it is you want to become or do now. That way you can spend more time doing that thing and hopefully create success for yourself sooner.
At the end of the day, trying to become or do the thing you want most is up to you. You have to want it badly enough at the deepest internal level, otherwise your desire will be fleeting. Am I intimidated by all of this? You bet. But I know how important it is to go after what you want and am invested in figuring it out for myself. That’s what life’s all about. I hope you can share this vision with me get and started on your dream today. Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!ππ½π
