Why Women take a Pause in their careers and How they start their career again!

Recently I had attended a CII HR Conference wherein many of the speaker's again & again reiterated the need of women to enter the workforce. One of the ideas which stuck on to me as to why Women take a Pause in their careers and how can they start their career again.

My wifey took a Pause from her career because of my kids and started her career again a few years back. Many of my colleagues in my startups are women & many of them have taken Pause in their career to work again. I am a proud father of two lovely daughters giving them the best of education as most of the Parents do, knowing that they may take a Pause in their career at some phase of their life. Yes, women who have talent, experience, and qualifications do take Pause in their career for various reasons, however, they do, can & should look to restart their career at any phase of their life.

Women need to decide when & how they need to restart their career after the Pause. And the most important is the intent and belief in themselves. There is no age for women to get back, it may be as long as the time when their kids go to college or get married. There are a host of opportunities available for women who wish to restart their career. Full Time, Part Time, Freelancer, Work from Home, etc. It's important to explore and choose the best-suited option. Lastly, the support of family, especially Spouse is very important. Happy Sunday!! Be Authentic, Do Uncomfortable Work And Surrender To The Outcome!

This week I saw this Ted Talk about the above. I could relate to it so much to my Journey. Authenticity for me is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s all about the choice to show up and be real, to be and to let out true selves be seen. It is also about being true to who we really are.
