My Daughters :)

Image
My two daughters are the biggest gift; I've said it so many times and it sounds like a cliche, but the thing about being a parent is when you think you've cracked it, and you're on top of your game, they change again and you have to catch up and adjust. I feel such a responsibility to instill good values in her, to be confident, to have discipline. Don't ever act harshly. That's the lesson I learned the hard way, raising two daughters. As a dad, I had to control my words and actions, throttling back my emotions. I didn't always succeed. I snapped at them, and there were a few times I yelled in anger. You learn, over time, that those unbridled moments reveal more about your own temperament and leadership abilities than whatever situation caused the outburst. Raising two daughters taught me a lot about seeing things from their point of view. As a "man's man" I was always trying to be the tough guy growing up. I didn't think too much about ho...

“Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di, uske baad toh main khud ki bhi nahin sunta!”

Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di, uske baad toh main khud ki bhi nahin sunta.” (Once I have made a commitment, I don’t listen even to myself.), famous dialogue given by famous Indian Hero Salman Khan, in some way defined the meaning of the word 'Commitment'. In our professional and personal lives, we regularly get and give Commitment. The word 'Commitment' for me means, staying loyal to what you said you were going to do, long after the mood you said it in, has left you. Unless a commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes; but no plans. When You're ‘Interested’ in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient, And When You’re ‘Committed ’ to do something, you expect no Excuses; only Results. In a larger sense, Commitment is one of the bases of integrity. A person who is able to make and keep commitments has learned how to earn trust and respect from those around them including themselves. One of the qualities of trust - an essential elemen...

Family and Friends!

In the last few days, I happened to attend the wedding of my Niece and my Dad took me around to meet our Family and Friends whom we have not met for long. And after meeting them all, I realized that no matter how close or distant our relationship is to our Family and Friends, we still think fondly of them and love to get together to share some funny or embarrassing memories of our childhood. The bond we have and developed with our Family & Friends is special. We love to be with our Family and Friends and I can tell you that lots of eating will be involved. In my view, the Best Times are always found when Friends & Family gather round. There are friends, there is family, then there are friends that become family and there are family members that become friends. I have learned a lot in the last few years. I learned that things don't always turn out the way you planned, or the way you think they should. And I have learned that there are things that go wrong don't always...
