“Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di, uske baad toh main khud ki bhi nahin sunta!”
Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di, uske baad toh main khud ki bhi nahin sunta.” (Once I have made a commitment, I don’t listen even to myself.), famous dialogue given by famous Indian Hero Salman Khan, in some way defined the meaning of the word 'Commitment'. In our professional and personal lives, we regularly get and give Commitment. The word 'Commitment' for me means, staying loyal to what you said you were going to do, long after the mood you said it in, has left you. Unless a commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes; but no plans. When You're ‘Interested’ in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient, And When You’re ‘Committed ’ to do something, you expect no Excuses; only Results.
In a larger sense, Commitment is one of the bases of integrity. A person who is able to make and keep commitments has learned how to earn trust and respect from those around them including themselves. One of the qualities of trust - an essential element to building and maintaining a productive relationship is dependability. Commitment is the little engine of dependability; without it, nothing happens. Besides, Just Commitment is not enough, We need to have intensity and sincerity to keep the commitment strong, pure and going.
Commitment is an act, not a word. You always have two choices: your commitment versus your fear. The only limit to your impact is your imagination and commitment. There's no abiding success without commitment. So next time when you give any Commitment, be like Salman Khan, don’t even listen to yourself, Just Keep the Commitment.
