React or Respond!

Last week I attended a session wherein Guru Gaur Gopal Das Ji was a speaker and he shared his views on why we should Respond and not React to any adverse situation. I went through many of his videos on YouTube and tried to understand why we Respond or React. We all experience plenty of negative situations and people. The key is to be prepared to consciously Respond to these negative inputs. Choosing to Respond instead of Reacting helps us to demonstrate reliable reactions with increases predictability for others and reduces their stress when they interact with us.

When we React, we make a purely emotional and subconscious decision. On the other hand, when we respond to a situation, we make a constructive and conscious decision. When we simply React, our emotional instinct is in control, with little thought of the long-range consequences. When we Respond, our brain is fully engaged, and our self-awareness is high. We have long-term consequences in mind.

But it's not easy to respond to a situation instead of reacting to it. That's why the foundation of ethical spirituality is so important as all of us wish to be successful in our areas of life. We have to learn how to Respond. We Don't need to ask the question Why did this happen to me? Instead, We should Ask the question How should I deal with it? Between Stimulus & Response, there is a Space. In that Space is our Power to Choose our Response. In our Response lies our Growth and our Freedom.

Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!🏃🏽😊
