Seeking Out Help and the Value of Being There for Someone!
Today Morning I Received an Inspiring Story of Turnaround by a Leading Market Player in India from My Mentor. I am Sharing few Interesting Excerpts from the Story which We Feel Relevant to Our Story Too. There are Times in Each of Our Lives where We Feel that Everything that Could Go Wrong is Going Wrong, and There is Just No Respite. One of the Most Incredible Lessons from the Last Few Years of Our Entrepreneurial Journey has been the Concept of Fair-Weather Friends. It’s Easy, but Not Correct to Judge - for Good or Bad - a Story by the Chapter One Walks in On. In our Corporate Career, Myself & My Partner's had Made a lot of Friends. When the Times were Good, a lot of Celebrations Used to Happen – and with that came a lot of Inbound Requests for Introductions, Linkedin Invites (have over 14 K Connections). Funnily, a Lot of These People that We Called for Help and Support in Last Few Years, Wouldn’t even Return Our Calls or Emails.
However, Some Did, and We are Glad we Never Hesitated Asking for Help. In the most Unlikely of Situations, We Were Able to get the Guidance and Counsel from Some of the Most Respected and Leading Persons in the Industry. In Our Time of Need, it was Those who Had the Least to Gain, and Most to Give, that came to our Help. Not Only with Money. But Most with their Wisdom and Encouragement. Needless to say, We will forever be Grateful to All Those Who Helped Us in our Time of Need. We Know Who They Are – Thanks to All of Them for Taking Our Call, Responding to Our Email or Meeting Us.
It has Made Us Realise the Value of Being There for Someone When No One Else Will. We have Learnt that Even if We don't know Somebody – but Feel We can Do Something for Them, Even if it is Offering Words of Encouragement - Don’t Think Twice, just Do It. You may be the Glimmer of Hope and Positivity that They have been Looking For but are Unable to Find Anywhere. It May Just Mean the World to That Person on That Day.
