Opportunities Multiply As they are Seized!
Sun Tzu was a Chinese General & Philosopher and is most known for writing the Art of War. Sun Tzu often wrote about the importance of Strategy and the wisdom that he shared is still extremely applicable today whether in Business or in Life. One wisdom which stuck with me was about Opportunities Multiply as they are seized. I personally believe that every opportunity opens the door for something else, every time we seize it. Often in Business & Life, I always see opportunities presented to people in various forms. But, not many people make use of it, even if it's right there, in front of them.
Sometimes, it just takes one opportunity for the floodgates to open. Success in life hinges more on seizing opportunity than having everything go according to plan. Planning and preparedness are great, but the real magic happens when we allow ourselves to be flexible and seize on opportunities to stand out. I have heard it so many times that most people miss Opportunity because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. In order to seize an opportunity, we first have to recognize it. While some of the opportunities given to us in life are obvious, others are hidden. We so often fear missing opportunities that we end up in a constant state of chasing the next best thing.
Opportunities in our business & life arrive all the time and in a variety of ways. I keep telling my team that in the execution phase of fulfillment, clients often get even more excited about the value we can bring as a partner. Closing a sales merely opens the relationship to a new abundance of opportunities and it's up to us to seize them. It's important to make use of such opportunities because every opportunity takes us one step closer towards our goal! Finally, we should not beat ourselves up when we miss a great opportunity. So we missed one. Big deal. Keep moving forward. Most importantly, reject the passive approach of waiting for an opportunity to knock. Instead, be prepared to create and seize opportunities and multiply them.
