Action-Oriented Approach!

Last week I read through an article written by Chetan Bhagat in a leading English daily on recent political developments and India’s discuss-until-death culture giving way to a ‘just do it’ approach. Sharing a few excerpts from the article. We have to keep moving forward in life with solutions and the solutions do not come from discussion, they come from action. India is changing and the New India likes the ‘discuss less, do more’ approach to running the country. Discussions have their place in life and can help avoid problems. However, when we take action, it doesn’t mean that everything will go perfectly. Not everything will go according to the plan. That’s the point of an action-oriented approach. We do things and fix problems as they come. There’s a life lesson for all of us, dwelling on our problems forever will lead us nowhere. Action will. I believe Action is at the root of any success. We may have the best of skills, the most positive of attitudes and the strongest of belief...

It’s OK to Make Mistakes!

This week I was having a conversation with one of my friend's daughter who has recently graduated from what she needs to do in her career. What was worrying her most was whether or not she was making a mistake while choosing her career options. I have seen with many parents who have taken decisions for their kids all their life, suddenly leave such crucial decisions to be taken by them. What I realized is that we don’t give ourselves or those close to us much permission to make mistakes. While mistakes aren’t a huge issue in our life, we actually spend and waste a lot of time worrying about making mistakes, and also find ourselves being unnecessarily critical of those around us when they make mistakes. "I made a mistake." Those are four words nobody ever wants to have to admit. Truth be told, everyone makes mistakes. It’s a part of the learning process of life. Everybody does, although no one admits it. I have made enough and seen enough to know that it is a regular oc...

Share Your Story!

Image
This week I was on a Panel of a Start-up Conclave and had the opportunity to share my Startup Journey with the audience who were Startupreneurs. I was enthused by the response I received from all & that's the time I realized the importance of Sharing Your Story. I believe we don’t have to be a writer or a performer to share our powerful story. Truthtelling is all about letting the world know what’s in our hearts. In diving into and sharing our story, we free ourself from the burdens of the past and allow ourself to step into glorious new chapters in our life. All while letting other people who might feel alone in their journey know that they aren’t. Sharing your story can be a great path toward self-love: It affirms that we are worthy of having a voice, worthy of being heard, worthy of being cared for, and worthy of being loved. It helps to think about our life as a story with a beginning, a middle, and an end. It helps to think about how the various events—even the not go...
