We Must Help Each Other!
This week I saw two messages in one of my school's WhatsApp group wherein the underlying message was that We Must Help Each Other. Last few years while creating our Jeevitam Platform, which helps people find their Livelihood, we did not anticipate that our work will mean so much to many and in turn, made us understand the value that comes from helping other people. There is a Chinese saying that goes: “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.” For centuries, the greatest thinkers have suggested the same thing: Happiness is found in helping others.
A meaningful life isn’t found but created through our actions. And it starts by looking for ways to help others. And while we may not believe in an inter-connected universe that rewards good deeds, there is something to be said about how helping others change our perspective. All these years of my Startup Journey, I had always wondered as to what has kept us going on in spite of so many problems that we faced. I now strongly believe that the work we are doing is helping others in their lives and that's where we receive all the help from the inter-connected universe whenever we require the most. When we’re helping others, we will often feel better about ourselves, increasing the likelihood that our next experience will be a positive one. It’s important to understand that helping others can actually help ourselves.
No matter what the motivation, getting out and helping others is the key. I strongly feel and have experienced that people appreciate and never forget that helping hand especially when times are tough. When we help someone in need, they will always remember and are more likely to help as and when they are in a position to give back. This is the basic, unspoken agreement that fuels nearly every move. For it is in giving that we receive. I have now understood that the more we help others to succeed, the more we succeed. The more we help each other, the more we stand to gain purpose, meaning, and happiness—all of the things that we look for in life but are so hard to find.
Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!🏃🏽😊
