Do Well By Doing Good!

This week while attending a Seminar, one of our Ministers made a statement that Doing Well by Doing Good is very much possible. This statement stuck with me as “Doing Well” means a person is content, in good health, or successful. And “Doing Good” means an individual is performing good acts in the world. For many entrepreneurs like us, the phrases are now interchangeable. We will notice that many successful businesses built in our time – Google, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter – were started by people who believed they had a powerful idea that could change the world: the way we communicate, exchange goods, build relationships, and consumer news. Today’s most successful companies often trigger major developments that improve the world and make our lives easier. In today’s world, it is very much possible to run a healthy, successful Business and Life that are doing good things in the world. At Jeevitam, our Livelihood Platform we believe that doing well by doing good may mean giving someone...

Just Do It!

This week our Jeevitam Platform helped conduct a Mega Work Fair in which over ten thousand people registered/participated. A lot of planning and efforts went into the Execution of this event, however, I feel in the end it was the spirit to Just Do It and total commitment on our part, made it a success. I have realized that to be the Person people come to get the things done is to simply begin and Just Do It. And doing things is not the same as getting things done. We need to go through the obstacles and never let them prevent us from doing things. I believe in the philosophy that If there is anything that excites and scares us at the same time, it probably means we should Just Do It. I have learned that if we want to win in business or in life, everything's not going to work out like we want it too but we have got to be committed. I believe the difference in winning and losing is becoming so small that it's almost too scary to talk about it. We can do 99% of the things right...

Experience Counts!

This week I attended the wedding of my first Boss's daughter in Ajmer. It was 27 years back when I started my career and all the advice he gave me at that point in my career holds good today too. I was indeed lucky enough to have these Experienced and Knowledgeable People as my Counselor/Advisor/Mentor in every phase of my life. And I will always be thankful to them for taking a special interest in helping me both in my personal and professional life. I think we all have likely experienced, in some form or other, a successful mentoring relationship. Perhaps it was an older sibling who took us under their wing, a teacher at school who helped guide our career or a more experienced professional who showed us the ropes. In our Startup Journey, we were lucky to have a Very Experienced & Knowledgeable Person as our Mentor. He has been helping us build and scale our Startup, get the focus and be a constant companion in our Journey. I believe Experienced and Knowledgeable People who...

Take the Responsibility!

When we make excuses or try to blame other people or external factors for the eventual outcome of something, I believe we are failing to take responsibility. My family circumstances pushed me to start taking responsibility in my very early stage of Life. I was responsible for my Dad's office in his absence or as and when he needed me when I was still in college. Looking back I believe it helped very much in my Personal & Professional Life as when I took the responsibility, it gave me the power to shape the outcome of my career and life. Many times we may find ourselves in our current position in both our personal and professional life and remain convinced that if all’s not going well, then it’s ‘so and so’s a fault’. However, we all have free will which means that we are completely responsible for all of our successes and failures and of our happiness or state of unhappiness. I learned very early in my Startup Journey that we are responsible for every action we take and ever...
