I Don't Know What I Need To Do!

This week I read through the Interview of Fit and Hungry, Mohammed Shami, Indian fast bowler who is bowling at his best and is pivotal to the success of the Indian team. He shared that he has now come to terms with his game and he had now learned that he needs to stay fit to bowl with pace and skill. He knows now how important it is to have clarity on what he needs to do to be a good fast bowler. Going through the interview I could relate to many students who had recently graduated, friends going through their mid-life crisis and those who are now starting their second Inning, all whom I had met recently, they all knew what they wanted to be, but they all did not have clarity and did not know what they need to do to become what they wanted to be. I think it's safe to assume we've all been there, wishing someone would swoop into our lives and tell us what to do when we don't know what we need to do. Figuring out which way to go, what to choose, is never easy. And so when we find ourselves trying to figure out what to do, we start to ponder our options.

When we don't know what we need to do, doing nothing, going nowhere may seem like the best and most reliable option for many. While some choose inaction and procrastination fearing failure the others pick up the easiest of tasks and get busy. I believe this is the Mistaking Activity For Action. Progress for me is 'conscious thought through' action. Many of us swing between frozenfoot and meandering mindlessly. We think that by not making any decision or by picking the easiest of the tasks, we eliminate the chances of making wrong decisions, and so by default, we remain safe. Wrong. We never get to the other side. We need to understand that when we do nothing or pick up easy things, we go nowhere, and create soul vacuuming stress in the process of stagnating ourselves.

I sincerely believe that we all can choose to be miserable about the process or we can grow up, be the person that we want to be, and dive in with our best efforts and our best work. It is quite likely that it won't turn out exactly as we want it to be, but I think that's part of the process of learning. We need to dive in because when those decisions come to us, we are blessed, we get the opportunity to learn, to grow, to get a little uncomfortable and to let our lives evolve. To know what we need to do, We all need to take that leap of faith, we need to dive in, need to forget about the ultimate outcome, focus on the next right action and Just Do What You Need to Do Now!

Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!🏃🏽
