Fight The Fear!
Fear is a natural human emotion, and it is something that we all are experiencing right now. Some fear the disease, some fear the uncertainty and others fear to lose their livelihood. The whole of this week while working from home overtime, I have been speaking to as many across the world and trying to understand the implications of the present crisis. My understanding is that regardless of the source of the fear, it has immobilized too many and is now preventing them from achieving what they desire and are capable of. I think what matters most right now is how we are going to fight our fears, and whether we let them affect our life.
I believe fear exists to keep us safe, it isn’t designed to keep us inactive, but to help us act in ways that generate the results we need and want. I think it's time for us to embrace fear coming out of this crisis as an instruction to change the way we do things and let it inform our actions, but not control them. And I see it happening already, government/corporates are advising & encouraging people to work from home, which was earlier not seen as a workable option by many. I have been telling all that there is a strong need to unlearn and learn the way we work. Work from home means more hard work, more discipline and delivers the same results as we would have delivered at our workplace. Work from Home is not a holiday given by the government/corporate.
Fear of losing livelihood because of the present crisis is keeping many from sleeping at night and causing panic attacks. Continuity of Life & Business is critical at this moment and I believe Technology is going to be a big enabler in this crisis. Our Start-up Jeevitam, which provides livelihood to many is now leading the Digital Livelihood Initiatives. In the last one week, we have been encouraging corporates to do Digital Hiring, Government to launch Digital Job Fairs and Colleges to start Digital Campus Placements, while they work from home. None of us have experienced a threat like this personally before, and we don’t know how long this will last. I believe it's time for us to reinvent the way we work and live, unlearn and learn new ways of doing things, stay together as a community and keep a positive outlook. I believe in the quote 'Thinking will not overcome Fear but Action will.'
Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!🏃🏽😊
