Do Something New!
This week I was a Moderator to a CII session on Changing Culture of Organizations because of the ongoing crisis. One important point which came out of deliberations was to keep our eyes and ears open to new opportunities to work and Do Something New in addition to what we are already doing. A crisis is a time to figure what is newly needed in the changing environment and how we can plug our skills in. If we only focus on what we currently do, we will miss the new that will emerge as the crisis dies down. As a part of our uneasiness towards change, we tend to resist anything which is different and new. We tend to play small, to resist the unknown, to resist being seen and evaluated. I believe doing something new brings engagement and change. Doing Something New means we’re doing something that others were unlikely to do because they’re hiding out in their comfort zone.
