Do Something New!

This week I was a Moderator to a CII session on Changing Culture of Organizations because of the ongoing crisis. One important point which came out of deliberations was to keep our eyes and ears open to new opportunities to work and Do Something New in addition to what we are already doing. A crisis is a time to figure what is newly needed in the changing environment and how we can plug our skills in. If we only focus on what we currently do, we will miss the new that will emerge as the crisis dies down. As a part of our uneasiness towards change, we tend to resist anything which is different and new. We tend to play small, to resist the unknown, to resist being seen and evaluated. I believe doing something new brings engagement and change. Doing Something New means we’re doing something that others were unlikely to do because they’re hiding out in their comfort zone. In our Startup Jeevitam, Doing Something New is part of our DNA. At any given point of time in Jeevitam, we are alway...

Reimagining Business & Life!

Who’d have thought it would take a global pandemic and an economic crisis to see how we can re-imagine our future in business and life. The economic cycle is broken or at least disrupted for a while. Our usual way of being has changed – irreversibly and forever, maybe for the better. A search for different answers has begun and a new kind of normal will quickly take shape. A new agenda for change is emerging, gaining traction, and is raising questions that will not go away. The need of the hour is to think of business and lifestyle models that are easily adaptable. Being so will mean that even in a time of crisis, our Businesses and Life can keep moving. Telemedicine is a clear example, We are already seeing consultations without patients actually going to a clinic or a hospital. Going Digital will be the new normal wherein the technology will play the role of the biggest enabler. It is expected that businesses will move to a hybrid model — a mix of physical and remote working. We wi...

Power of Hope!

This week the Indian Government also launched its stimulus package. It was launched with the hope that it will help kickstart the economy which has been under lockdown for some time now. Hope is the little voice we hear whisper MAYBE  the stimulus will give us all the required impact when it seems the entire world shouting NO!  The power of Hope energizes us with life. It keeps us going when times are tough. It creates excitement in us for the future. It gives us reasons to live. It gives to us even when we have little or nothing left. Hope shines brightest when the hour is darkest. We all hope that medical science will be able to find a vaccine for the virus that has affected all. Hope believes when the evidence is limited. All those who have been affected by the Virus hope that they will be able to recover fast. Hope energizes when the body is tired. Migrant workers walking for miles hope that he will be able to find Livelihood and his family safe back home. Hope sings whe...

We Must Help People in Need!

In the Present ongoing crisis, there is a crying need to help people in need. While creating our Jeevitam Platform, which helps people find their Livelihood, we did not anticipate that our work will mean so much to many in this crisis. The last few months experience has made us understand more the value that comes from helping people in need, find a sustainable livelihood. We believe helping people in need to find sustainable livelihood will help them live with dignity and security. There is a saying that goes: “If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody in need.” A meaningful life isn’t found but created through our actions. And it starts by looking for ways to help others in need. While we’re all feeling the effects of the crisis in different ways and to different extremes, so many of us, fortunate to be in a position to give, are asking the same question: What can we do to help people in need? Of course, the best way to...

Why Should Anyone Choose Change?

In the last couple of Months we all have observed that the world has changed and it's not going to be the same again. Our Lives have changed. The Business or Job we do may change, our business models may change or the way we live and work may change. I have spoken to many of my clients, friends & relatives in the last few days and everyone accepts that there is going to be a big change but what bothers me that many of them still refuse to start making changes in the way they live and work. They still hope that once the lockdown lifts everything may be the same again, their business/job & lives will back to pre-crisis times. They just want to wait & watch. At the same time, few of them have accepted the change which is coming. They are not waiting for the lockdown to open and working hard to make things happen. They all are exploring new opportunities coming out of this crisis, creating new business models, working on synergies/partnerships, basically working hard ...
