Do Something New!

This week I was a Moderator to a CII session on Changing Culture of Organizations because of the ongoing crisis. One important point which came out of deliberations was to keep our eyes and ears open to new opportunities to work and Do Something New in addition to what we are already doing. A crisis is a time to figure what is newly needed in the changing environment and how we can plug our skills in. If we only focus on what we currently do, we will miss the new that will emerge as the crisis dies down.
As a part of our uneasiness towards change, we tend to resist anything which is different and new. We tend to play small, to resist the unknown, to resist being seen and evaluated. I believe doing something new brings engagement and change. Doing Something New means we’re doing something that others were unlikely to do because they’re hiding out in their comfort zone. In our Startup Jeevitam, Doing Something New is part of our DNA. At any given point of time in Jeevitam, we are always working on at least Three New Ideas. To me, If we are Doing Something New, then we’re ultimately Doing Something Right.
In the coming weeks, lockdown is going to open up gradually and we will start getting used to New Normal. We may think of allowing our team to continue working from home like many Corporates are doing. Distributed Workforce will be the new normal, we may look at hiring workers remotely. Workers may work for Corporates across the globe as they work remotely, they may look at leaving big cities and going back to their home. All who have lost their livelihood in the current crisis may look at Entrepreneurship as a new way to work. We will need to take control of ourself, our life and our choices. If something isn’t working, we need to Do Something New and start again, as many times as it takes and whatever it takes. As the outcome of this crisis, we should Keep Doing Something New.
Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!🏃🏽😊
