Don't Waste a Crisis!

You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that: It’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before' ~ Rahm Emanuel. The shut-downs initially made many of us wonder – what are we going to do during this time? But as the pandemic persisted, the questions evolved along more practical as well as philosophical lines, such as: What are we going to do with this time? Where are we going to live? Where will we work? How will we work? We have now reached a stage where we should consider what have we learned from this period that will make us better, stronger, and more resilient? How will this transform us as individuals, as families, as social creatures, and as organizations? And what and how much of what we learned and accomplished will be (or should be) carried forward into Whatever Comes Next?

In the world of Business and Life, we are often guilty of not challenging the norm; we are instead satisfied with following procedure and tradition. In challenging times like the ongoing crisis, we have been forced to question the accepted reality because things were going wrong, rapid answers were needed and the solutions may well be found outside the usual compass. I believe it takes a lot of insight and courage to question, why are things done the way that they are? In our Startup Jeevitam, If there has been one singular guiding principle or mantra – that has sustained us, challenged us, and in some cases, inspired us over the last few months is - “Challenge the Norm & Don’t Waste the Crisis.” We believe It is also the mantra that will propel us forward.

What We Have Learned in the last few months is Powerful: Let us Not Let it Go to Waste. For example, We Always Had The Technology – We’re Only Just Now Leveraging Its Full Potential. We have to keep looking at new ideas and experimenting with them; no matter how these experiments work out, we should learn from each one and institutionalize those learnings into a "New Normal” Models. I am seeing the New Normal getting formalized in the coming times. The future will definitely not be the past, the faster we accept this and work towards it, the better it will be for all of us. I firmly believe that the Time for Transformation is Now: Let Us Not Waste This Crisis.

Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!πŸƒπŸ½πŸ˜Š
