Work & Live from Anywhere!

 


The present ongoing crisis has unwittingly sparked off a giant global experiment in mass anywhere working & living, the office & home are well on their way to being reinvented. 'Do we really need to be together, in an office, to do our work?' We got our answer during the pandemic lockdowns. We learned that a great many of us don’t in fact need to be colocated with colleagues on-site to do our jobs. Individuals, teams, entire workforces, can perform well while being entirely distributed—and they have. So now we face new questions: Are all-remote or majority-remote organizations the future of knowledge work? Is work from anywhere (WFA) here to stay post the ongoing crisis?

I keep saying that this crisis is an opportunity for us to reinvent the way we Work & Live. As a Startuprenure & avid traveler, I have been Working from Anywhere for a long time now and am aware of the challenges & benefits. I firmly believe that Work From Anywhere is here to stay and will get evolved over a period of time. In our Startup Jeevitam, a Livelihood Platform, we see WFA as an opportunity to create one of the largest 'Distributed Workforce' of the country. This distributed workforce will Work From Anywhere, especially Tier 2&3 cities and comprise of Gig Economy Workers, Freelancers, Part-Time Workers, etc who will be willing to work with Corporates/MSMEs across India & even Overseas. India has been the Back Office of the World for some time now, I see this crisis as an opportunity to become the Front Office of the World too.

I believe as this crisis is opening up Opportunities to WFA, it's also creating a lot of possibilities. It is possible that WFA will help Women and Persons With Disabilities (PWD) Increase Workforce Participation? It is possible that WFA will also make people work for Companies not only in India but also Overseas without worrying about Visas etc? I believe WFA is opening up many such possibilities, however, the big question is what is needed to make it possible? I think Adaptability to Change instead of resisting the change, commitment from all to make it happen and constant learnings will help us Survive & Thrive. To stay Relevant, Let us also learn to Work & Live from Anywhere.

    👍 well thought of. I agree , a place cannot define your working hours and accountibility . We have to step out and find a space where one can give the best output where he is at peace and not where you allot his peace .

Be Authentic, Do Uncomfortable Work And Surrender To The Outcome!

This week I saw this Ted Talk about the above. I could relate to it so much to my Journey. Authenticity for me is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s all about the choice to show up and be real, to be and to let out true selves be seen. It is also about being true to who we really are. Authenticity is more than speaking; Authenticity is also about doing. Every decision we make says something about who we are. Authenticity starts in the heart.
