Life Well Lived!

Yesterday I lost my Mamaji, the whole day was spent revisiting the moments and time I spent with him. He was my Dear Mamu. In my view, he lived his life well. He had traveled across the world, I remember him telling me has seen most of the places he wanted to see. He was a true family man and loved his nears and dears. In the last phase of his life, he became a hotelier and he was indeed very passionate about it. I remember my conversations with him, there was always warmth, love, and something to learn. May his soul rest in peace. I believe human experiences are all built on connecting with others everywhere we go. The definition of a life well-lived is, of course, different for every one of us. But there are some ingredients that I think we may agree to make for a great life. I will share a few of mine. I married the person I loved. My Entrepreneurial journey helped me find my true friends, they are few but they are whom I can count on through thick and thin. Being a Startuprenure is...

Never Stop Believing!

This week What Team India has done for themselves and their fans is something for the history books to record, for generations to cherish, a story that shall remain immortal. This performance by our players also teaches us big life lessons. The most important lesson I feel is that one should have belief in our abilities and Never Stop Believing. After their humiliating first test defeat, they won the next test and subsequently the series. The Indian Team showed us that we should Never Stop Believing in ourselves & our capabilities, and we shouldn’t listen to anyone who tells us otherwise. No matter what happens, no matter how far we may seem to be away from where we want to be, we should Never Stop Believing.  'Keep exploring. Keep dreaming. Keep asking why. Don’t settle for what you already know. Never stop believing in the power of your ideas, your imagination, your hard work to change the world.' ~ Barack Obama.  The above quote has been the cornerstone of our Startup J...

Enabling and Spotting Serendipity Triggers – and Connecting the Dots!

Last week I started reading the book 'The Serendipity Mindset', The Art and Science of creating Good Luck written by Dr. Christian Busch, I have been reading through it this week too, there is so much I could relate to my life and the ongoing crisis. I am sharing few excerpts from one of the Chapters of the Book. Serendipity (Good Luck) is frequently co-created and sometimes relies on the goodwill of others. Others can envision opportunities or talents in us that we don’t see – or, given their different areas of knowledge, they can connect dots that we don’t have on our radar, opening the opportunity space even further. I experienced it first hand in the last few months when our new Advisory Board Member joined us. I did let her know what we’re interested in and what we’re looking for and seeded potential triggers. Seeding potential triggers are I believe at the core of what people who experience serendipity en masse do. Connecting the dots helps us turn it into a positive out...

Our Habits Will Determine Our Future!

Image
It's very difficult to change habits, we all know well. Last year's crisis forced us to Change our Habits and New Normal got established. And as the vaccine is coming, the debate is on whether we will go back to our old habits or newfound habits will stay. But the crisis has changed us, the surprise is that many of us have realized there are some things about the new life that is worth preserving. We’re questioning the very fundamentals of the “New Normal” we’d all come to unthinkingly accept — and realizing we don’t want to go back to "Old Normal", not to that. At the same time, living in quarantine for months has offered some — a rare opportunity to reflect on our lives and, potentially, to reset them. Quarantine has allowed us to experiment with new habits and new lifestyles. Here are few new habits which I feel we will keep post-lockdown. Our Spending Habits have changed, we want to be more mindful of where we spend our money. Spending more time with Family ...

2021: The Year Of The Great Reset!

Image
As we start the New Year, many wish to crystal gaze into what the New Year holds for them. As I wrote in my previous Blog, in my view 2020 was the Year of Transformation and I believe the Year 2021 will be the Year of Great Reset. The Year 2021 could be a historic one - and in a Positive Way. I firmly believe the Year 2021 represents a rare but narrow window of opportunity to Reflect, Reimagine, and Reset the Way We Work & Live. In fact, one silver lining of the ongoing crisis is that it has shown how quickly we can make radical changes to our lifestyles. Almost instantly, the crisis forced businesses and individuals to abandon practices long claimed to be essential, from frequent travel to working in an office. Clearly, the will to build a better of everything does exist. 'The Secret to Change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the Old, but on building the New' ~ Socrates. In our Startup Jeevitam, a Livelihood Platform, We believe We are living through a fundam...
