Let's Collaborate!
This week again lot of time was spent by me on building new partnerships & working on collaborations. Today is the age of the remote workforce where people are working and collaborating with each other from different geographical locations. We're now expected to be collaborative, to work collaboratively, and to foster a collaborative culture. Some of us think we are doing it, or at least should be. Some of us think we don't need to or it's not worth doing. Maybe we've tried it before and it didn't work out. But I think a lot of us don't really know what it is, what's it's for, or how to do it well. Collaboration for me is a process or way of working between two or more people. We cannot accomplish all that we need to without working together, so Let's Collaborate.
If you want to walk fast, walk alone. But if you want to walk far, walk together.” ~ Ratan Tata.
My Startup Journey has been a long journey and it has been really meaningful as I was fortunate to have my Co-Founders, my Advisory Board, my Colleagues who are the smartest & most high-integrity people. Our focus has always been on building deep, long-term, and win-win relationships. We have partnered with the Best Corporates not only in India but across geographies. We have worked & are working with Central & State Government Bodies, Best of Philanthropy/CSR Firms/ Skilling Firms in the Skilling Universe. We have always followed Collaborative Business Model because the problem of helping vulnerable segments find Sustainable Livelihood is so big that it requires innovative solutions & the involvement of all the stakeholders.
However, in my experience collaboration requires a lot of patience, persistence, and perseverance. While we wish to work together, we want to take the lead, we believe can take the ideas and do it ourselves and not able to create an environment of trust and respect for each other many times. In my view Not designing a proper strategy, Not defining proper roles and responsibilities, Not listening to team members, and Not creating a supportive environment are probably reasons why collaboration does not work the way it should. I believe we should over-communicate, believe in each other & their capabilities, and work towards a common vision to effectively collaborate. Let's Collaborate, Sincerely.
Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!ππ½π
