Let's Talk (Aao Batein Karein)!

This week One of my Colleagues who has recently joined us, suggested that we should have a get together with all the colleagues over video conference, to know each other and Just Talk. No Business Talk. And actually, we all talked, we could see faces behind the names, we got to know each other better, it was a bit different from our daily routines, it was fun, we all enjoyed the conversation and agreed to do it at least once a month. Post call, it made me realize that because of these Lockdowns and Travel restrictions, we are getting restricted at home and one of the biggest casualties has been that we are not having enough conversations with Family, Friends, Colleagues, Neighbours, and with Everyone.

I am a Foodie and miss my conversations over Food with Family & Friends. We have not opened our office for more than a year, I miss my side  Conversations with my Co-Founders and Colleagues. I have not attended any of the Conferences in the last year, miss conversations with Members of Corporates sitting across the table. I have not traveled even locally for client meetings, I miss my conversations which helped me build relationships. We did not have our Monthly Manthan (Brain Storming Sessions) with our Mentor for long now, I miss those intense conversations. Yes, I Believe we All are Not having enough conversations which we used to have earlier.

Video Calls, Webinars have taken over Person Meetings, but conversations I believe have stopped happening. We need to Restart our Conversations. I personally believe it will be better if We call and wish Birthdays instead of sending a Whatsapp message. On my recent B'day, was blessed to receive hundreds of Messages across Whatsapp/LinkedIn/Facebook, but I valued more was the calls I received. It will be better if We call and share the grief of someone who has recently lost someone as we are not able to meet. It will be better to call and check how is your friend/relative/colleague is going through the challenge. Try having as many conversations with Family, Friends, Colleagues, and Neighbours over Phone/Video/ Conferences Call. Come, Let's Talk (Aao Batein Karein).

Be Authentic, Do Uncomfortable Work And Surrender To The Outcome!

This week I saw this Ted Talk about the above. I could relate to it so much to my Journey. Authenticity for me is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s all about the choice to show up and be real, to be and to let out true selves be seen. It is also about being true to who we really are. Authenticity is more than speaking; Authenticity is also about doing. Every decision we make says something about who we are. Authenticity starts in the heart.
