Freedom to Work and Live from Anywhere!

This week I had the opportunity to interact with the Students of IIM Nagpur and tried to delve into the Future of Livelihood. One interesting revelation came in when asked if the opportunity is given to them to Work from Anywhere, what will be their preference. 51% wanted to become Digital Nomads and Travel across countries and 26% wanted to work from Anywhere for an Offshore Company, 15% wanted to Work from Home for an Indian company and only 9% wanted to Migrate to a different country. It is quite clear that the ongoing crisis has opened our eyes and mind to a better way of doing work and go about our lives. What many call frictionless-first mindset about all things. Last year from the month of March, Lockdowns were forced on us which also forced us to Work and Live from Anywhere. What it has done inadvertently is that Work from Anywhere is now one of the acceptable Work Options, which also allows us to Live Anywhere. I believe this Big Change is now going to create the greatest periods of productivity and innovation in human history.

Imagine World becoming one Marketplace for Work Seekers and Work Providers. I think that's what going to happen in the near future. Without question, the Work from Anywhere model offers notable benefits to Work Providers and Work Seekers. Work Providers have been able to reduce or eliminate real estate costs, hire and use talent globally while mitigating immigration issues, and, research indicates, perhaps enjoy productivity gains. Workers get geographic flexibility, that is Life from Anywhere, eliminate commutes, and report better work/life balance. At Jeevitam, we believe Work From Anywhere is also opening up opportunities for the Vulnerable Segments and Entry Level Work Seekers. College Students can now get the same set of opportunities in their Tier 2&3 Cities which were earlier available only in the Metros. Work from Home allows women to Work for opportunities that they could not do because of local restrictions. Persons With Disabilities can work from anywhere and need not come to the office. Work from Anywhere is indeed opening up New Opportunities and Possibilities.

Many today Wish to become Digital Nomads, which means they can Live Anywhere in India or across Countries, Travel, and Experience different cultures. The most common types of digital nomads include retired or semi-retired persons, entrepreneurs, and (often younger) remote workers. People typically become digital nomads for many reasons, including the quest for financial independence and a career that allows for location independence. Lockdowns forced many to shift back to their native place, they now wish to live with their families. People now don't want to live where their work is, but work where they live, that's a big change which is happening. Some will like to travel both internationally & locally and work. Some will like to live with their families in their native place and work. Some will like a hybrid model where they have the flexibility to work from home and the office as per their requirements. I will like to Wish Everyone Happy Independence day on our 74th Independence Day. so I will like to Wish Everyone Independence to Work & Live from Anywhere.

Be Authentic, Do Uncomfortable Work And Surrender To The Outcome!

This week I saw this Ted Talk about the above. I could relate to it so much to my Journey. Authenticity for me is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s all about the choice to show up and be real, to be and to let out true selves be seen. It is also about being true to who we really are. Authenticity is more than speaking; Authenticity is also about doing. Every decision we make says something about who we are. Authenticity starts in the heart.
