Take a Chance!
Yesterday our PM while addressing Indian Startups shared that "Startups are changing the rules of the game. I believe that startups are going to be the backbone of Innovation in India". I have been a Startuprenure for some time now and can say that running a Startup and getting acceptance for our Innovative Ideas was Not easy at all. Everyone wanted to listen to our new ideas/new ways of working, however when it came to giving our startup a chance, they asked for a track record, and they were not willing to take any risk, take a chance. However, we were lucky enough to have a few Investors who believed in us, and our idea and were willing to Take a Chance with Us to invest in our Startup. We also had with us a few Government officials, a few Corporate Heads, few CSRs/Foundations who were willing to Take a Chance with us and believed in our Technology and Business Model. However, most were Risk Averse, they were Not Willing to Take a Chance.
'I knew that if I failed I wouldn't regret that, but I knew the one thing I might regret is not trying' ~ Jeff Bezos. I keep saying that ongoing crisis is also bringing in Innovative Possibilities & Opportunities. Work from Home/Work from Anywhere is one of the Biggest Innovations which is making the World one Marketplace. Many Corporates/Startups are now willing to take chance and hire talent from across the world. Telemedicine in my view is another Innovation, the government took a chance and gave it legitimacy courtesy of this crisis. I believe Telemedicine will be a game changer for the Healthcare Industry in the Near Future. Online Teaching was another Innovation that was forced on Educational institutions because of the ongoing crisis. Many Education Institutions are now Taking a Chance to make Online Teaching an integral part of Teaching, making it more accessible to many. I believe this crisis is giving us All a Once in Life Time opportunity to have a hard look at our existing Businesses & Business Models and make changes wherever required, Take a Chance.
'You will never experience personal growth if you fear taking chances' ~ T Sorensen. This is the third time Corporates announced Work from Home for all Employees. Various Surveys are finding World getting divided whether they Want to Live Where they Work or Work Where they Live. I believe this crisis is giving everyone a chance to decide what's important for them and decide whether they want to Work from Home/Anywhere or Office. If wish to Travel the World, Take a Chance to become a Digital Nomad. Not able to find suitable work opportunities, Take a chance to Skill yourself with what's relevant. Willing to pursue your hobby, Take a Chance. Looking to pursue your idea & Start your own Startup, Take a Chance. We never know how Perfect something could turn out to be, Always be willing to Take a Chance.
