Follow Your Passion!

 This week we were working on a Leadership Summit organized by one of the Premiere Educational institutions as their Strategic Partner. Listening to various Esteemed Panelists at such a Summit is always a very learning and enriching experience.  One of the Panelists advised all the Students to follow their passion and make it their Profession. He gave the example of one of his friends who had quit his job to start his own Travel company as he himself was passionate about traveling. Many of us spend a good part of our life working for a living towards a career/profession/business which we may not be very passionate about. In my view Passion is what gives us boundless energy, intense almost single-minded focus, and the willpower to overcome even the most daunting obstacles. I believe we will not only like where we end up but also enjoy the journey along the way when we Follow our Passion.

'If you want to be great at something, make it Everything.' ~ Roger Federer. While hearing Kiran Bedi yesterday during the summit, she shared her journey as a Governor of Puducherry. She was really passionate about the work she was doing there, she made her work everything and could make the difference she always wanted to make. I think a simple litmus test to find our passion is to understand what do we enjoy doing that doesn’t feel like work? Our Startup Jeevitam is My Passion and is the thing that keeps me excited; I always want to talk about it and don’t mind putting a lot of time toward it as seems much less like work to me. My passion gives me the determination to keep working hard and also makes what I am doing, fun. Over the years I have learned to wake up every day thinking about how I can move forward, and have learned to be persistent. I firmly believe when we follow our passion in life, slowly but surely, our dreams manifest into reality. Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without Following Your Passion.

I keep saying that the ongoing crisis is giving everyone a once-in-a-lifetime chance to Reset the Way We Work and Live. It's giving everyone a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to follow our passion. If we have been thinking about that big idea, it's probably the right time to call it quits and start working on it. If we have been thinking of going back to our native place and starting working from there, it's probably the right time to do it. If we have been thinking about making Our Passion Our Profession, it's probably the right time to do it. Yes, it's not going to be easy, Yes there will be a lot of challenges, Yes it will be a bit scary, but we will love what we do. Our passion will help us overcome our challenges and our fears. Let us Live the Life We Always Wanted to Live, Let us All Follow Our Passion.

Be Authentic, Do Uncomfortable Work And Surrender To The Outcome!

This week I saw this Ted Talk about the above. I could relate to it so much to my Journey. Authenticity for me is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s all about the choice to show up and be real, to be and to let out true selves be seen. It is also about being true to who we really are. Authenticity is more than speaking; Authenticity is also about doing. Every decision we make says something about who we are. Authenticity starts in the heart.
