Find the Joy in Your Life & Bring Joy to Other People's Lives!

 This week I re-watched the 2007 comedy/drama film The Bucket List. It’s about billionaire Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson) and car mechanic Carter Chambers (Morgan Freeman) who meet in the hospital and learn that their respective illnesses will kill them in less than a year’s time. Instead of letting the news bring them down, they decide to create a bucket list together, which is basically things each of them wants to do in life before they die. The rest of the movie explores the relationship between the two men as they go out and try to live their bucket lists. There are many life lessons to be learned from this Movie. However, for me, two lessons that stand out are: First, Find the Joy in Your Life, Just find the things or do the things that make you happy. And Second, Bring Joy to other People's Lives, Be the reason for someone’s happiness.

Finding Joy in Your Life in my view means, we need to figure out what makes us happy and keep doing those things as much as we can. I keep saying the ongoing crisis is giving us all once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to Re-imagine the way we work & live and in the process also find out what makes us happy. If living with your folks makes you happy, find out work opportunity which allows you to work from anywhere. If you are not happy with your present work, find out ways to reskill/up-skill/learn a new skill or even start something of your own. If traveling is your passion, explore becoming a Digital Nomad. If we are able to make our passion our profession, as this is what we do day and day out, I believe it will make us happy and help us find joy in our life. Our Startup Jeevitam is my passion and I enjoy my work every day which makes me happy and helps me find Joy in My Life.

Bringing Joy to other People's Lives in my view means, we need to find out how many people’s lives we can touch while we are here in this world. Life isn’t meant to be all about us. Yes, our dreams and goals matter, but it’s really also about impact and legacy. In our Startup Jeevitam, we are helping Vulnerable Segments and Entry Level Work Seekers find a sustainable livelihood. When we help anyone find a sustainable livelihood when he needs the most, we help bring joy into his life as it makes him self-dependent. In the Financial Year 22-23, we are looking at impacting over Million Work Seekers. We are on a Mission for Livelihood for All. Live Life to the Full. Let us All Work Together to Find Joy in our Life & Work to Bring Joy into Other People's Lives.

Be Authentic, Do Uncomfortable Work And Surrender To The Outcome!

This week I saw this Ted Talk about the above. I could relate to it so much to my Journey. Authenticity for me is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s all about the choice to show up and be real, to be and to let out true selves be seen. It is also about being true to who we really are. Authenticity is more than speaking; Authenticity is also about doing. Every decision we make says something about who we are. Authenticity starts in the heart.
