You Don't Ask - You Don't Recieve!

This week I read through this post from Matt Higgins on LinkedIn wherein he shared a Steve Jobs clip from '94. In this interview, he recounts the story of a single phone call that likely changed the trajectory of his life. I am sharing excerpts from his post. "When Jobs was 12 Years old, he cold-called the Founder of Hewlett Packard explaining he wanted to build a frequency - and boldly asking if Mr. Helwett had any spare parts he could use. Not only did he end up getting those spare parts, but his boldness also landed him a job working on an assembly line at Hewlett-Packard that same summer. The point is, You Don't Ask - You Don't Recieve." In my view, while Steve Jobs had the boldness to ask for help, on the other hand, Mr. Helwett had this empathy to help Steve when he needed the most. It goes to show we never know how big of an impact we can make in someone's life if we just give what was asked. “I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces ...

Have the Courage to Follow Your Heart and Intuition!

This week while speaking to potential investors, potential clients, and potential partners, I realized while sharing all the desired data, and information required for them to take decisions, in the end, I expected them to follow their heart and intuition while taking decisions. However, the mind needs to see things before believing that they are possible. It needs to see proof that if they follow their heart and intuition, they will get the things they want to get. And since we have created a society that honors the servant–rational mind, and has forgotten the gift – the intuitive mind, as Albert Einstein said so beautifully, we listen to our fearful mind more than we listen to our heart and intuition. It takes a lot of courage to not allow the noise of the rational mind drowns out our own inner voice. I believe if we follow our heart and intuition, we will always receive the things we wish to receive. “Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already kno...

Character Is What You Do For Others!

'If excellence is what you do, the character is what you do for others ~ Adam Grant. This week I read through this quote and did find it relevant in the context of What I believe and what We do. I believe more than anything, people of good character are deeply driven to help others. The greatest thing people of good character believe in and do is help others succeed. These types of people will jump in and help in any way they can, especially when it is good for everyone. Somewhere along the way, we must learn that there is nothing greater than doing something for others. People with a Character find happiness & purpose when they do something for others.  While writing today's Blog I was remembering my Nana (My Maternal Grandfather). Since childhood, I had always seen him helping everyone in his family and business. He was always there for his family, he helped everyone in whatever way he could, and he was always there for them. I think his helping nature defined his chara...

Old Ways Won't Open New Doors!

This week I attended a day-long summit after a long time. It was a great experience as it's always good to meet so many people in one place and to hear the different perspectives of the Panelists. Besides, it also gives all a good business opportunity to share their new ideas, their new business models, and their success with Prospective Customers/Partners. However, it has been my experience as a Startuprenure that while everyone wants to hear something new & interesting but from these connects eight out of ten connections just fizzle and do not move to the next level. Most of them want to try out something new & different but is challenging for them, as it means they have to come out of their comfort zones and take some risks, which many are not prepared to do so. I believe a new way of working will become the accepted way of working for everyone involved, after all, old ways won’t open new doors. 'Old Ways Won't Open New Doors' mean that if we just keep doing...

We Must Believe in What We Do!

The whole month of April went by meeting Stakeholders, Partners, Board Members, Clients, and Colleagues. It's always a learning experience when you meet such diverse people who bring different perspectives to what we do. However, one thing which stood by me in these interactions was that they all looked upon us for the Belief we had in all our Innovative Ideas, Reimagining the Existing, the Scale We want to achieve in our Startup Jeevitam towards our Mission Livelihood For All. Believing in what we do might seem trivial, but the fact is that it can make a huge difference. Happiness comes when we love what we are doing, know what we are doing, and believe in what we are doing. It's Simple, We have to Believe in What We Do in order to Get What We Want. "One person with a belief is equal to a force of 99 who have only interest." ~ John Stuart Mill. As the quote above says, it makes us much more powerful than those who just have interests. If we want to live an effective ...
