Spend Time with Family & Friends!
The day before yesterday, it was my Dad's 80th B'day and we celebrated it in the company of his childhood friends. It was a fun-filled day where his friends who themselves are 80+, also participated with full enthusiasm and fond Memories. I am enclosing a video (My Dad is in the Centre) which we made during the celebration, sharing their spirit of bonding. At the time of making this video, we did not realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun. During the day my wife and daughter were hearing their childhood memories and enjoying the banter among them. One more realization which came was that spending time with friends is never a waste of time, it's in a lifetime moment that we will surely miss when old age comes. And in the last few months, I have learned that an important reason why Spending Time with our Family is essential, is because Tomorrow is Never Promised.
'The most important form of selfishness involves spending time on your fitness, eating right, pursuing your career, and still spending quality time with your family and friends.' ~ Scott Adams. Since the onset of the ongoing crisis (still call it ongoing as the fourth wave is now affecting), many of us were forced to 'Work From Home'. We were forced to look after ourselves, eat in the right way and more importantly, spend as much time with family. And now as the New Normal is emerging, there is a fight going on between Work From Home or Work From Office or ie Hybrid. We all have realized the importance of the time we spent with the family and many of us are trying to safeguard that space and hence the fight. My Dad stays in Agra with my younger brother because of our family business. He often comes and stays with us. What We enjoy most is spending time with each other, listening to each other, and having food together at the same time as I work from home, I am able to give my best to my work. In the New Normal, We All Now have the Option, to spend as much time with our Family & Friends.
A few years back I attended the marriage of my Early Life Mentor's daughter. It was a very small gathering and we all had a good time. At that time he told me, that he had Invited Family Members who were like Friends to him and his Friends who were like family to him, hence a small gathering. And that statement made by him, stood by me over the years, 'Friends who are like Family and Family who are like Friends'. Over the Years since my Entrepreneurial Journey, I have spent as much time in our Startup Jeevitam, and in these many years, I have my Partners, my Mentors, my Colleagues, and my Professional Friends who are now more like Family to me. I believe it's important that we spend as much time in Building and Nurturing Relationships which may be of Family or Friends. Spending time with Family & Friends, helps us Create Memories, Memories is what We Leave Behind and Memories stay with us Forever.
