Find the Joy in Your Life!

This week my younger daughter scored 97.5% in her 12th Class CBSE Board Exams. In the last two years, she has not only scored good marks in her Exams, but she also became a Cloud Kitchen Entrepreneur and she got admission to the University of her choice. As a Father, I find Joy in my life as my daughter turns out to be a good human being and gets success in her life. Besides, this week I again saw the movie 'Bucket List' in which Morgan Freeman tells his Friend to "Find the Joy in Your Life." In other words, we all need to figure out what makes us find joy in our lives and keep doing those things as much as we can. Think about the last time we laughed, did something that was really fun, or had a great time spent together with Family & Friends. We all should never stop seeking that joy and making it a regular part of our lives. We all need to just follow our joy. Always. I think that if we do that, life will take us on the course that it's meant to take us.

In the same movie, Morgan Freeman tells his friend that the second question that is asked is: “Has your life brought joy to others?” Life isn’t meant to be all about us. Yes, our dreams and goals matter, but it’s also really about impact and legacy. How many people’s lives can we touch while we are here? How can we be role models for others? As Morgan Freeman said in the movie, “You measure yourself by the people who measure themselves by you.” Helping others find joy in their lives may just be the secret to living a life that is not only happier but also healthier, wealthier, more productive, and more meaningful. One of the things that keep me going every day is the way our Startup Jeevitam is impacting the lives of vulnerable segments by helping them find Sustainable Livelihood. And possibly bringing Joy into their Lives.

Somehow I feel our passion should be the foundation of finding joy in our lives and helping others find joy in their lives. We are very passionate about the work we do in our Startup Jeevitam which keeps us going every day. We don’t all have the same amount of money, but we all do have time on our hands and can give some of this time to help ourselves find joy & help others find joy in their lives. And while we do so, I believe We all have to let go of what’s behind us before we can hold onto the goodness that is in front of us. The greatest power we all have in this world is the power of our own self-transformation. I think the key is to find the approach that fits us. And when we do find, then the more we do find joy in our lives & in the lives of others, the more we stand to gain purpose, meaning, happiness, and joy - all of the things that we look for in our lives but are so hard to find.
