Find Your Greatness!

  This week I stumbled upon this advertisement released by Nike in the Year 2012. It's a really very inspiring advertisement and very relevant in today's world where New Normal is shaping up. I am sharing a few excerpts from the advertisement. "Somehow we’ve come to believe that greatness is a gift reserved for a chosen few, for the superstars, and the rest of us can only stand by watching. We can forget that. Greatness is not some rare DNA strand, not some precious thing. Greatness is no more unique to us than breathing. We’re all capable of it. All of us. The truth is greatness is for all of us. This is not about lowering expectations, it's about raising them for every last one of us. Because greatness is not in one special place, and it is not in one special person. Greatness Makes its own way. Greatness doesn't need an audience. Greatness isn't born, it's made. Greatness isn't defined by judges. Greatness doesn't have one address. Greatness doesn't need an audience. Greatness is scary until it isn't. Greatness is just something we made up. Greatness is wherever somebody is Trying to Find It."

It’s a powerful inspirational message that goes beyond sport. It seeks to inspire people who strive to excel on their own terms, realize personal goals, and achieve their moment of greatness. Greatness is not something we are entitled to. It is something that we earn, something that we work, and strive for. It is something that we deserve only if we make a go for it. It is up to us to find our greatness! Meet Life with Life! Finding your greatness will help us to make a tremendous impact; not only on ourselves, but also on our family, on the people around us, and on the whole world. While working in our Startup, I believe we are impacting the lives of vulnerable people when we are helping them find Sustainable Livelihood. It makes me look at life in a more positive light. It opens me to brand new possibilities and opportunities every other day. It helps me embrace our true potential and be prepared for whatever changes life throws at us. Last, but definitely not least, the reason why we need to find our greatness is that it’s possible for everyone – regardless of age, gender and beliefs. Everyone can be great. It’s only a matter of choice. So we all need to choose wisely & Learn to Be Great!

I think We all can Learn To Be Great. And I believe the best way to do that is to surround ourselves with people who knew exactly how hard it was to be something great at, who had the scars to prove it. The critical thing is to have a Goal. To strive for something Big and Hard and Great. In our Startup Jeevitam, we are trying to do something Big, Hard & Great. We have experienced that every step we take toward that goal, even if it’s a stumble, moves us forward. And we have learned that we can’t skip a step— we can’t just have the answers handed to us and detour around the hard stuff. And if it turns out to be the wrong move, well, making a mistake is the best way to not make that mistake again. We all Learn to Be Great through productive struggle, by trying it ourselves and making mistakes, and doing it differently next time. We can get guidance and advice to Be Great, We can choose a path to Greatness by following someone else’s example, but we won’t really learn to Be Great until we start walking down that path ourselves and seeing where it takes us. To Find our Greatness, We have to keep Doing, Keep Learning and Keep Moving Forward.
