Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance!
One of my resolutions for this year is to read through a book every week. This week again I read through one of my all-time favorite books, 'Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance' by Angela Duckworth. This book focuses on the concept of Grit, which the author defines as a combination of passion and perseverance, as the key to achieving long-term success. I could relate so many chapters in the book to my Entrepreneurial Journey of Many Years which has been All about Passion and Perseverance. *Grit* for me is Having Stamina, *Grit* for me is Sticking Out with My Future, Day in and Day Out, Not for Weeks, Not for
Months But For Years together. And Working Really Hard to Make that Future of mine a Reality. *Grit* for me is Living Life Like a Marathon, Not a Sprint. A growth Mindset is a Great Idea for Building *Grit.* I have experienced that Success doesn’t come overnight and Patience is Essential to Meeting Our Goals. And We have to be Willing to Fail, to be Wrong, to Start Over Again with Lessons Learnt. It is true that We should Do something We Love, But the fact is that We will always Hit Rough patches. Hard work can lead to Procrastination and Doubt, and that’s where *Grit* comes in. With Passion and Perseverance, We can Motivate Ourselves to keep Working toward our Goals and Persevere Through the Toughest of Times.
I believe *Grit* is important for business because it helps individuals and organizations persevere through challenges and setbacks in order to achieve long-term success. This is particularly important in the business world, where success often requires sustained effort over a period of time and the ability to bounce back from setbacks. In addition, *Grit* can lead to more effective leadership. I have experienced that *Grit* has made me more resilient, adaptable, and decisive, which has helped lead our Startup through difficult times. In our Startup Jeevitam we try to inspire our Colleagues & Partners to be more Gritty themselves and create a culture of *Grit* in Jeevitam. Furthermore, *Grit* allows individuals and teams to stay focused on their goals and work hard to achieve them, which can lead to greater productivity and improved results. Overall, Companies with Employees who possess *Grit*, tend to have a high retention rate, and better teamwork, which leads to better business results and achieves success.
I believe *Grit* is also important in my Personal Life because it allows individuals like me to maintain Motivation and Focus on Personal Goals, even in the face of obstacles and failures. This is particularly important in the Personal Life, where success often requires sustained effort over a period of time and the ability to bounce back from setbacks. People like me, with *Grit*, tend to be more resilient, adaptable, and persistent, which are all important qualities for coping with stress and adversity. We also tend to be more optimistic and have a growth mindset, which helps us see challenges as opportunities for growth. *Grit* allows individuals like me to stay focused on their personal goals and work hard to achieve them, which can lead to greater self-esteem and self-awareness. People like me, with *Grit*, tend to be more motivated to learn new skills and take on new challenges, which can contribute to personal growth and development. Overall, *Grit* I believe is an important trait for individuals in our Personal Lives, as it helps us persevere through Challenges and Achieve our Goals and Aspirations which contributes to our overall well-being and life satisfaction.
