Value of Life is measured by Lives it Touches!

This week I read this story shared in one of the WhatsApp Groups about a farmer who grew excellent-quality corn. Every year he won the award for the best-grown corn. One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors. “How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?” the reporter asked. “Why sir,” said the farmer, “Didn’t you know? The wind picks up pollen from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my neighbors grow inferior corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbors grow good corn.” So is with our lives... Those who want to live meaningfully and well must help enrich the lives of others, for the value of a life is measured by the lives it touches. True fulfillment and happ...

Have the Courage!

This week while seeing one of the serials on OTT, the leading Actress had some inspirational lines to share on 'Courage'. As per her, to survive in this world, we all need Courage, Guts. Courage to follow unconventional paths in life. Courage to be vulnerable. Courage to let go of what doesn't feel right. Courage to put yourself out there and take chances. Courage to settle for nothing less than you deserve. Courage to always go after what you really, really want. I am totally in Sync with the Inspirational lines on Courage shared by her. Courage for me is indeed a valuable attribute that can be very helpful in navigating life's challenges. I believe it can help us overcome fear, take risks, and face difficult situations with confidence and determination. We have seen in the recent past that world can often be uncertain and unpredictable, and having courage can be particularly important. It can help us persevere through difficult times, push past obstacles, and make th...

Let's Collaborate!

This week I attended a whole-day Seminar organised by a leading government body as a Speaker. I always like such Seminars as it gives an opportunity to meet a lot of people in one Place, the opportunity to get different perspectives of speakers on a given topic and an opportunity to Learn New Ideas. One Big takeaway from this Seminar for me was that if we wish to Solve a Problem of Scale, it's important to Collaborate. The problem of helping Vulnerable Segments in their Financial & Social Inclusion is so Big, it needs Government, Academia, Skilling Universe, Corporates/Startups/MSMEs and Philanthropy Organisations to join hands for the required Impact. I keep saying that there are so many stakeholders doing such meaningful work, but they are limited in Scale, I call them Islands of Success. And more importantly, it will require us to question the status quo and come out with Innovative Solutions. I keep saying Let's Collaborate to do Something Impactful (Kuch Acchaa Karte ...

Fire in the Belly!

This week I flew to Chennai to meet a senior Bureaucrat to collaborate for the Social & Financial Inclusion of Vulnerable Segments. Whenever I meet him, what sets him apart from others is his strong drive, passion and determination to help as many in the state get skilled and find Sustainable Livelihood. I see him as an individual who is highly motivated, dedicated to the cause and wants to set an example for others to follow. I believe everyone has a unique passion and drive that fuels our ambition and helps us navigate life’s ups and downs. This inner fire, often referred to as 'Fire in the Belly,' motivates us to pursue our goals and dreams, no matter what obstacles may arise. 'Fire in the Belly' refers to a deep-seated passion and drive that propels us forward, no matter what. It’s the 'Fire in the Belly' that keeps us going when things get tough and helps us stay focused and motivated. People with 'Fire in the Belly' are often described as havi...
