Don't use Your Head when it comes to Your Heart!
This Sunday I happen to see a Movie 'Gulmohar' on the OTT Platform. It's one of the good movies seen in a long time. This movie is all about emotions, family & relationships. One of the dialogues which stuck with me was 'Don't use Your Head when it comes to Your Heart'. I think it's a phrase that is a reminder to trust our intuition and make decisions based on our feelings and inner guidance, rather than solely relying on logic and reason. When we listen to our hearts, we tap into a deeper sense of knowing that comes from within. It's a sense that can be difficult to put into words, but we all recognize it when we feel it. It's that feeling of being in the right place at the right time, of knowing that something is true without needing any external proof, and of feeling a deep sense of connection with the world around us. Listening to our hearts is about more than just following our emotions or making impulsive decisions. It's about learning to trust our intuition and cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness and connection with the world around us. By doing so, we can make decisions that truly align with our values and desires, and live a more fulfilling and authentic life.
When faced with a decision or conflict, our mind may come up with numerous, different and quite logical reasons why we should act as it advises, but if we listen to and trust our heart—however illogical or irrational it may seem—it is usually right and we are happier as a result. There is great brilliance and beauty inherent within the mind because it is capable of understanding the most intricate scientific and mathematical theories and can make complicated corporate decisions. Yet the same mind can get caught up in trivia and nonsense, becoming upset or even unglued over a seemingly harmless remark. It runs our life, pushing and pulling us in all directions, from attraction to repulsion, creating endless dramas in acting out our insecurities and fears, because it is not in touch with our deeper feelings. It is actually a source of great richness, and this wealth is one that cannot be squandered or lost. It is the core, the essence of our being, a reservoir of joy, powerful love and infinite compassion that lies within us.
If we only consider our gut or our heart or our head, we’ll miss out on a lot of important information. We’re apt to not feel in alignment with the path we choose. If we work to find a decision that our gut, heart, and head are in alignment with, we will feel a sense of all the lights turning on in our bodies. Our heads are programmed to keep us safe, to think of all the reasons why our guts and our hearts are wrong. I call the part of our mind that comes up with all the what-ifs and yeah-buts the Voice of Doubt. Any time we have a call that will take us into the unknown or asks us to let go of something that’s been important to us, the Voice of Doubt will appear. To soothe our inner Voice of Doubt, we need to learn how to respond to it with compassion, understand what it needs, and take steps to meet our many needs while also following our heart. If we keep paying attention, over and over and over again, to our gut and our heart and our head, we’ll be equipped to make wise decisions that take into account the fullness of who we are.
Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!ππ½π
