Back Yourself, Belief is the Key. Follow Your Instincts, Seek and You Should Find. Follow Your Heart!

In today's leading daily, I read this Interview of Cricket Legend, Sachin Tendulkar wherein he shared around 13 Lessons from his Life in Cricket. I have picked up three lessons that I felt were very relevant to my Life and start-up Journey. The first Lesson was 'Back Yourself, Belief is the Key'. Self-belief for me is the confidence that we have in our own abilities, qualities, and judgment. I think Believing in oneself is the foundation of everyone's success. I have experienced that it's all about trusting ourselves and our decisions, even when we face uncertainty or doubt. Our Self-belief has always pushed us to take risks, and persevere in the face of adversity from time to time. We have seen it's quite easy to become overwhelmed by the challenges that life keeps throwing at us, but as we have cultivated a strong sense of self-belief over the years, we can overcome obstacles that come our way. We believe that we can achieve what we have set upon ourselves something, we are now making all the efforts to achieve the required milestones. It's also about recognising our strengths and weaknesses and believing that we can improve and grow. We know we don't know everything, but we trust that we can learn and adapt. In the recently concluded visit of our team members from across India, we all reflected on our past achievements, celebrated our successes and reminded ourselves of all the things that we're capable of. Additionally, we have surrounded ourselves with Advisory Board Members, Mentors and Partners who support us, believe in us & our abilities and encourage us to achieve the unthinkable. So, we need to back ourselves and believe that we have what it takes to achieve our dreams.

The second Lesson to which I could relate was 'Follow Your Instincts, Seek and You Should Find' It's a common saying that highlights the importance of intuition and the pursuit of knowledge or answers. In my life, I have always followed my Intuition, and my Instincts to perceive and respond to the opportunities that came on my way and help me shape the journey of my Life. I still remember in the Year 1992 when I started my career, CCI was abolished and SEBI came out with new guidelines to manage Public Issues. My instincts told me that it was a good opportunity for me to learn and experience something new. I went to my immediate superior and requested to independently handle Public Issues. And for the next four years, I was travelling across the country, managing press conferences, and broker meetings, and handling as many Public Issues. Besides, I have always been a Seeker of knowledge and answers which has also been a crucial aspect of my personal growth and development. While working with a leading Financial Services Company, we used to go to Chennai for our Annual Conference wherein Branch Managers from across the country and Senior Management used to converge. After four years of this Annual pilgrimage to Chennai, I asked my immediate superior if we could do the Annual Conference outside Chennai. He agreed to my request and we did the next Year's Annual Conference in Agra after that I was told the Annual Conferences were done across India and Overseas. From the experience, I learnt that by actively seeking out new experiences, we can expand our understanding of the world and ourselves, and discover new opportunities and possibilities. Over the years I have learnt that by trusting our instincts and forever pursuing knowledge, we can find the answers we seek and achieve success in all areas of our lives.

The third lesson to which I could relate was 'Follow Your Heart'. We often hear the phrase "Follow Your Heart" when faced with tough decisions or uncertain situations. But what does it really mean to follow your heart, and why is it important? At its core, following your heart means trusting your intuition and inner guidance. It means listening to the quiet voice within us that knows what's best for us, even if it contradicts what our logical mind might be telling us. However, it's important that we listen to our hearts and logical minds. In our Startup Jeevitam, I am the one who listens to my heart while making decisions and My Co-Founder Partner listens to his rational mind, prioritizing logic and reason. I believe our intuition is a powerful tool that can help guide us towards the paths that are most aligned with our authentic selves. When we learn to trust our hearts, we open ourselves up to a world of possibilities that we may have never considered before. Ask me, following our heart isn't easy at all. It can mean taking risks, stepping outside of our comfort zone, and facing uncertainty. It can also mean going against the expectations of others. But when we listen to our hearts, I have experienced we often find that the rewards are worth the risks. I have discovered my passion, met new people, and found myself on a path that feels more fulfilling and purposeful than anything I had experienced before. Following our heart isn't always easy, but it can lead to a life that's more authentic, fulfilling, and joyful. We need to learn to trust ourselves to Listen to Our Heart and see where it will take us. We will be surprised at what we may find.
