The whole of this week I was in Mumbai meeting as many, as a follow on meetings with the people I met in Global Fintech Fest'23 (GFF'23), last month. I had almost twenty odd meetings this week, few resulted in business, few moved to the next level and in a few interesting conversations/opportunities came up. But getting these meetings required I had to be Resilient i.e I had to keep going even when getting these number of meetings was tough, I had to be Persistent in my approach i.e I just refused to give up on my follow ups with people I wanted to meet and I had to be Consistent in my reach out i.e I did it every day for over a month along with my team, without fail. Over the years I have realised that the world is indeed a challenging place. There will be setbacks and adversity along the way. But if we want to achieve our goals, we need to Stay Resilient, Stay Persistent, and Stay Consistent, Always. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from setbacks and adversity. It is the ability to overcome challenges and keep going, even when things are tough. When we are resilient, we are able to adapt to change and learn from our mistakes.
Resilience is important because it allows us to thrive in the face of adversity. When we are faced with a challenge, resilience gives us the strength to keep going and eventually succeed. I had met a senior Bureaucrat on the sidelines of GFF'23. He had asked me to send a mail request for a meeting. I knew very well that getting a ten minute audience also could very well help make a policy level change which could help the industry and the Vulnerable Segments. I kept on following up with him, waited for almost two hours in the waiting area, knowing very well I may not get a meeting. But finally I got my 10 minutes for which I had prepared well and could give him a perspective which he patiently heard. When we are faced with challenges, we need to stay positive, focus on what we can control, build a strong support system, and take care of ourselves. Persistence is the key to success in all areas of life. It is the ability to keep going, even when things are difficult or seem impossible to do/achieve.
When we are Persistent, we refuse to give up on our goals, no matter what obstacles we may face. For example, I was persistent with an important functionary for a meeting knowing very well it could help us launch an important campaign. I could finally meet him, spent a good three long hours and believe this relationship could possibly be a game changer for us. When we are faced with a challenge, I believe that we have the power to overcome it. We need to just keep going, and we will eventually succeed. Consistency is the key to making progress towards our goals. It is the practice of doing something on a regular basis, even when we don't feel like it. When we are consistent, we are more likely to achieve our goals because we are constantly moving forward. Here I will like to give credit to my team who made a Tracker of all my Meetings in GFF'23, kept on sending presentations, notes, follow on mails wherever required and kept these relationships warm, which helped me do these many meetings in such a short time. I believe Consistency is the key to success in all areas of our life. When we are consistent, we are more likely to achieve our goals and achieve our dreams. Remember, Staying Resilient, Staying Persistent, and staying Consistent is Not Always Easy. But it is Essential for Success in Work & Life. Never Give Up on Your Dreams! Keep Dreaming!!
Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!
