Embracing 'No' for a Life of Purpose and Fulfillment!

Image
In the last few months my single minded focus has been to build revenue pipelines for our Startup Jeevitam and take it to the next level. Sales like many other activities, is not an easy Job. For every one successful client closure you have to reach out to at least 10 clients which means 9 out of 10 may reject your sales proposition. And this sales problem gets compounded when you are a Startup and trying to sell new ways of doing things. Everyone is keen to try out something new, but when it comes to decision making, most prefer to play safe. Rejection for us is a constant endeavour to refine our sales pitch, business strategy and product proposition. We believe that achieving success in sales requires an unwavering commitment to learning, adaptability and resilience. Indeed, Embracing 'No' as a stepping stone to success is a mindset that can propel individuals and organisations towards achieving their goals. Embracing 'No', when perceived as a learning opportunity, pr...

Memories: The Building Blocks of Our Lives!

My Mother (Ma) left us for heavenly abode eight years ago today. In some ways, it seems like many years have passed since she left us. Her absence is part of my daily life now. But there are still times when the wound still feels fresh. At some point many days, I think I should call her and have to remind myself I can no longer do this. Ma was my biggest fan. Growing up, the word that I associate with her is love. I remember as a child that it was unconditional and expressed often. I knew she was proud of me, but I never felt like I had to do anything to earn her love – it was just there. The values she gave me held me up as a good human being in various parts of my life. She supported me in all major decisions of my life, my decision to start my career in Mumbai, my decision to choose my Life Partner, many others. Near the end of her life, she reaffirmed what a strong person my Ma was. After she was admitted to hospital in her last days, she was determined to recover and come back hom...

Happy Diwali!

Diwali for me brings a lot of nostalgia, a lot of memories, a lot of experience, it's a time of the year where everyone gets together and celebrates the festival of Diwali. Going down the memory lane where there were no mobiles/phones, the only way to communicate was to meet in person or send Diwali Greetings through post. It was a time where we would go to our friends, our relatives places and wish them a Happy Diwali and share moments together. The food and the Sweets were mostly made at home, so the preparations for the festival started quite early. It was the time of the year where we would buy new clothes and gifts for family & friends on the occasion. Lightings of Diyas and candles was a process which was followed with utmost diligence. Pooja was done in the office and at home with full religious fervour. Bursting of crackers started almost a month before Diwali and reached its peak on the occasion. After the Pooja everyone will get together and try to outdo each other in...

Can You See Your Next Step? Then Just Take That. Don't Overthink!

This month it will be seven years since I started writing my Weekly Sunday Blogs *Keep Moving & Smiling*. With the grace of the almighty and blessings of all, I have been consistent and persistent and not missed a Single Sunday in these last seven years. The Inspiration to start sharing my learnings of my Startup Journey came from my wife, a dedicated Teacher. During my banking career, I got few transfers, which meant my wife had to leave her teaching positions behind. In one such move, parents of a student who came to know of her move, visited our home on a Sunday. They shared with tears in their eyes on how my wife had profoundly transformed their & their child's life, who had previously been recommended by Teachers before her, to shift him to a special needs school. This encounter reinforced for me the profound impact my wife had on that one student's life. That's where I realised that in our journey of life, if we are able to impact the life of even one person, ...
