This month it will be seven years since I started writing my Weekly Sunday Blogs *Keep Moving & Smiling*. With the grace of the almighty and blessings of all, I have been consistent and persistent and not missed a Single Sunday in these last seven years. The Inspiration to start sharing my learnings of my Startup Journey came from my wife, a dedicated Teacher. During my banking career, I got few transfers, which meant my wife had to leave her teaching positions behind. In one such move, parents of a student who came to know of her move, visited our home on a Sunday. They shared with tears in their eyes on how my wife had profoundly transformed their & their child's life, who had previously been recommended by Teachers before her, to shift him to a special needs school. This encounter reinforced for me the profound impact my wife had on that one student's life. That's where I realised that in our journey of life, if we are able to impact the life of even one person, it makes all the efforts worthwhile. In my journey of writing these Weekly Blogs for the last seven years, I have received so many messages from individuals where they share that my Blogs have helped them go through the journey of their lives. I think those heart warming messages have been fuel which has constantly motivated me to keep writing week after week. Besides, every time I meet people who receive my blogs, they remember me for the Blogs Shared with them, probably it's my way of staying connected with them. I just pray to the almighty to keep showing me the next step, I just take that. I don't Overthink.
This week I saw this video posted by Tidd James on LinkedIn. I am sharing the excerpts of this video in verbatim. In the video the Host is asking the Speaker "What is his advice to Overthinkers? A quote that has helped me immeasurably, and it's from a book called The Horse, The Boy, The Fox and The Mole. And one of the favourite quotes out of the whole book is, a boy and horse are in the woods. And the boy says to the horse 'I can't see a way through', And the horse says 'Can you see your next step?' And the boy says, 'yeah'. And the horse says 'Then just take that'. All of the time we look at the goal, we look at the future, we look at the end game, we look at how long a journey it is. And we feel overwhelmed. Instead of that Just go, right. I'm not going to worry about that because that will come. With each step, you will be closer to that. So I don't need to worry about how far away it is. All I need to focus on right now is my Next step." I believe, there are certain things in life where you have control and for some you don't have control. We need to focus on what's in our control, taking the Next step is in our control. Keep Moving.
In his Linkedin post, Tidd James, shared his views on the video he posted. I am again sharing his views verbatim. "Sometimes we get overwhelmed with what's in front of us. We get frustrated that things are not happening quickly enough. We know what our Dreams & Goals are, but they seem too far into the future for us to achieve them and get overwhelmed with the challenges we have to overcome to reach them. We can't see the Woods for the Trees & Sometimes we Give Up.Don't Ever Ever Give Up! We need to stop worrying about the time it will take us to achieve our Dreams. Time will pass anyway, Just take the Next Step. Just focus on the Next Thing to do. Just Concentrate on Today. Live for Today & Today Only. Because Tomorrow Will Become Today. Stop Overthinking." As we journey through life, let us not be overwhelmed by the vastness of the path ahead. Overthinking can paralyze us, preventing us from taking action. Instead, let us embrace the power of the Next Step, Keep Moving Forward with Confidence, Determination and Smile.
