If you really want to do something, you will find a way of doing it. If you do not want to do something, you will find an excuse for not doing it!

Summary: This Sunday blog is about the power of will. It highlights that strong desire fuels solutions ("Where there's a will, there's a way"), while lack of will breeds excuses.

The key takeaway: For what we crave, we innovate; for what we shun, we fabricate. Seek your priorities, silence inner demons, persist, stay focused, work hard - and make things happen.
We all have heard this famous quote 'Where there is a Will there is a Way', which means that if there is a will to do something, we will find a way of doing it. This morning I received an inspirational story of a man who has been diagnosed with cancer and is going through the treatment, he completed his 100th Marathon. I believe he had this strong will to fight the disease and complete the Marathon, he could figure out a way to do it in spite of all the challenges. I think we all have our internal demons to fight when we are trying to do something and that's where the strong will and desire to find ways of doing when we do not have an immediate solution or the way of doing what we want to do. I have been working with my Startup for sometime now and have a clear will & desire to make the required impact and successful. Everyday we keep on working to find ways to make our Startup important and relevant for our stakeholders and to take it to the next level.
And here comes the interesting piece wherein when we do not want to do anything, we will find excuses for not doing it. And believe me, many people are very innovative in finding these excuses. If we don't want to do something for ourselves, we will create some interesting reasons for not doing it. For example, getting into an all important health regime, we keep finding genuine reasons like weather, time, some body aches etc for not doing it, in spite of the fact we all know its importance and allow the internal demons to take over. At the same time, when we don't want to do something both personally or professionally for others, we will figure out innovative ideas for not doing it. Last week I had requested for feedback on my Blogs being sent every week for the last seven years. Many responded, will like to thank all of them and many had their own reasons for not doing it. I think we all can relate to all the follow ups we do to get something done from others, many times with no response whatsoever or some interesting reasons for not responding or not doing it.
It's important to note that we will figure a way or excuse for doing/not doing Something. I believe we all want to do something which we find is important/priority and relevant/interesting for us. So it becomes important in our personal lives to figure out what's important and relevant for us, let not internal demons rule over us, we will figure out a way of doing it. My Mentor keeps telling me that if we are not getting a response from our Prospective Partner/Client/Investor, we are probably still not a priority and relevant for them. We have to keep working towards making it more simple, relevant/interesting and a priority. I have experienced that when we really want to do something or get something done, we have to be consistent/persistent, have clear focus and keep working hard to achieve what we have set for ourselves. Let's Do It and Let's Get it Done.
Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!
