All Deserve a Good Life!

Summary: Vulnerable segments, often called the "Invisible Workforce," deserve a good life just like everyone else. Our startup, Jeevitam, works to provide sustainable livelihoods and promote social and financial inclusion for these workers. By understanding their challenges and working together, we can create a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Key Takeaways:
Embrace Empathy: Recognize the struggles of vulnerable segments and treat them with dignity. Small acts of kindness, like fair compensation and respect, can make a significant impact on their lives.
Join the Ecosystem of Change: Become the sixth partner of People who are Blessed with a Good Life in uplifting vulnerable segments by actively participating in their growth. Whether through your network, resources, or skills, you have the power to transform lives.
Each One, Help One: Adopt the mindset that in uplifting others, we enrich our own lives. By sponsoring/donating livelihoods or connecting people to opportunities, we can create a ripple effect of positive change in society.
I have been thinking of writing on the above topic for some time now, I saw a video yesterday and I felt like writing about it today. Our Startup Jeevitam is helping Vulnerable Segments in finding sustainable livelihoods and in their Social & Financial Inclusion. We all have given various names to these Vulnerable Segments, like Blue Collar Workers, Migrant Workers, Construction Workers, GiG Economy Workers etc etc. The fact is that these workers are part of our daily lives in the form of House Helps, Drivers, Delivery Riders, Street Vendors, Milk Vendors, Plumbers, Carpenters etc etc. I also call these Workers as Invisible Workforce and believe me we can't imagine our daily lives without them. Imagine a day when our house help or office help doesn't turn up for work. Our Startup Jeevitam, deals with these Vulnerable Segments on a daily basis, we have helped many in finding sustainable livelihoods and based on our experiences, We strongly believe that these vulnerable segments also look forward to, and Deserve a Good Life, as we all do. Their struggles and aspirations for dignity and fulfillment are as valid as anyone else's. As we rush through our daily lives, I believe it's important for all of us to pause and consider, how We All can have a Good Life, Together.
As said earlier, the vulnerable segments are part of our daily lives and they are the Invisible Workforce around us. It's important for us to understand their attributes, their struggles and their challenges for us to be empathetic towards them. Our Startup Jeevitam, works for them and has helped us understand them better, and would like to share our understanding about them. Vulnerable segments have broadly three attributes: first, they are not so educated, second, they do not have access to internet/smartphone or do not know how to operate them and third, most importantly want to be spoken in their native language. For you all to understand them better, look at two examples of House Help & Street Vendors, we all know and are part of our daily lives. I often say that many among the vulnerable segments struggle in life because of the lottery by birth. Since many of them are born in villages or small towns and/or in not so blessed families, their struggles are different from the struggle of being born in blessed families and in Big cities. And when we talk to them, we understand that their dreams and aspirations are no different from ours. Like All, they also want regular income from the work they do, good education & marriage for their children and house of their own. And getting these basics is a Big Challenge for them. They generally earn less than twenty five thousand rupees every month and they are in large numbers, often also called as the bottom of the pyramid. But in spite of all the hardships they face every day, they are always willing to help each other, live & work like a community, and work hard to live a Good Life.
As I said earlier Vulnerable Segments are in Large Numbers and the Entire Ecosystem of Government (Both Central & State Government with Government Schemes), Academia (School & Colleges to prepare Students for Livelihood), Skilling Universe (Helping in Livelihood related Skills), Philanthropy (CSRs, Development Financial Institutions & Individuals) And Corporates/Startups (offering Jobs & work opportunities) is working towards their upliftment. I believe besides these Five Ecosystem Partners of Government, Academia, Skilling Universe, Philanthropy and Corporate & Startups, there is a need for Sixth Ecosystem Partner to join which is People who are Blessed with a Good Life (another Innovation from Jeevitam). For All those Blessed with a Good Life, there lies a responsibility to Give Back, by helping uplift others. I believe Simple acts of kindness and inclusion can be transformative by Each One Helping One or More and in my view it can be done in Two Ways: First, By being Empathetic with the Vulnerable Segments. By being mindful of their struggles and challenges, for example Not Negotiating with them for products & services being offered by them and feeling good about saving some money. I suggest We should test our Negotiating Skills with someone Equal or better than us. Second: By helping them find work opportunities through our Network or by Sponsoring/Donating a Livelihood to Vulnerable segments with financial resources, our Startup Jeevitam can help you all here. All People who are Blessed with a Good Life should Remember, in uplifting others, we enrich our own lives. Let's All Work Together to Help All who Deserve a Good Life.
Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!
