Embracing Inclusion: The Path to Appreciation and Acceptance!

Image
The passage of the Woman Reservation Bill in India is a landmark moment in the country's history. The bill mandates 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and all state legislative assemblies. This is a significant step towards ensuring gender equality in the political sphere and empowering women to make decisions that impact their lives. The Woman Reservation Bill is a victory for all women in India. It is a sign that the country is moving towards a more just and equitable society. I think there is clear need to add to the slogan now famous slogan "Beti Bachao Beti Padao Beti Ko Swawlambi Banao" to reflect this new focus on empowering girls and making them self-reliant. Our Nation needs more 'Swawlambi Betiyan' for a inclusive society. Also, there is a clear need to increase Women Workforce Participation, 'Ab Har Nari Banegi Atmanirbhar'. I believe there are three Innovations which will drive this change. First, Work from Home/Work from Anywhere is n...

Consult Everyone, Focus on the Positives, Minimize the Differences, and Build Consensus!

In a recent video, renowned journalist Palki Sharma Upadhyay discussed the four-pillar template that India followed at the recent G20 Summit in Delhi. This template is based on the following principles: First, Consult Everyone. India sought input from all stakeholders, including developed and developing countries, as well as civil society and the private sector. This helped to ensure that all voices were heard and that the summit's outcomes were broadly representative. Second, Focus on the Positives. India focused on the shared interests of all G20 members, such as economic growth, sustainable development, and global security. This helped to build consensus and avoid getting bogged down in divisive issues. Third, Minimize the Differences. India worked to bridge the differences between different countries and groups. This was done by finding common ground and by proposing solutions that were acceptable to all. Fourth, Build Consensus. India worked to Build Consensus on all of the ma...

We are Unstoppable!

The last two days have been a watershed moment for India. The world's top leaders descended on New Delhi to attend the G20 summit, and India made a strong impression on all of them. The G20 summit was a major success for India. It demonstrated that India is a Rising Power on the world stage, and that it is committed to playing a constructive role in Global Affairs. Here are two specific reasons why I feel India is unstoppable : First, India has a young and growing population. The median age in India is 28, compared to 38 in the United States and 45 in Japan. This means that India has a large pool of potential Workers and Consumers. Second, India has a fast-growing economy. The Indian economy is growing at an average rate of 7% per year, and it is expected to become the world's third-largest economy by 2050. India is poised to become a major player on the world stage in the years to come. The G20 summit was a major milestone for India, and it is a sign of things to come. India i...

Give Back!

This week I spent a lot of time with my team at Jeevitam, working on a Social Innovation which probably will help Non Resident Indians Give Back to their Nation, Give Back to the individuals they wish to help, Give Back to the community at large, Give Back to their Alma Mater or Give Back to the place they belong to. While working on this Social Innovation I had the opportunity to go deep into Why Giving Back is and has to be an integral part of our lives? Giving Back from what I understood is an intrinsic part of the human experience, deeply intertwined with our sense of community, religion and empathy. It's a reflection of our interconnectedness and the realization that our lives are not solitary endeavors but threads in a larger societal tapestry. Giving Back is deeply rooted in Hindu Mythology and Philosophy as a means to fulfill one's duty, accumulate positive karma, and foster spiritual growth, while also promoting social harmony and selflessness. At its core, Giving Back...
