Enabling and Spotting Serendipity Triggers – and Connecting the Dots!

Image
This week I was again reading one of my all time favourite books 'The Serendipity Mindset',The Art and Science of creating Good Luck written by Dr Christian Busch. Every time I read there is so much I could relate to my life. I am sharing few excerpts from one of the Chapters of the Book. Serendipity (Good Luck) is frequently co-created and sometimes relies on the goodwill of others. Others can envision opportunities or talents in us that we don’t see – or, given their different areas of knowledge, they can connect dots that we don’t have on our radar, opening the opportunity space even further. I experienced it first hand in the last few weeks when I met one of the key members of a leading foundation. I did let him know what we’re interested in and what we’re looking for, and seeded potential triggers. Seeding potential triggers is I believe at the core of what people who experience serendipity en masse do. Connecting the dots helps us turn it into a positive outcome. Both are...

Face Your Fears, Be Fearless!

This week I went through a video wherein Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a renowned spiritual leader and humanitarian, shared that 85% of our Anxieties or Fears Never Happen! So the remaining 15%, 90% of it we can manage! So our worries really don't manifest at all. Yet, these unfounded anxieties/fears often hold us captive, preventing us from taking risks, pursuing our dreams, and living our lives to the fullest. We all grapple with Many Fears such a Fear of Unknown, Fear of Failure, Fear of Rejection, Fear of getting opinionated etc etc. Fear can manifest itself in various ways, from mild apprehension to debilitating phobias. It can whisper doubts in our minds, causing us to question our abilities and hesitate before taking action. It can paint vivid pictures of worst-case scenarios, paralyzing us with dread and uncertainty. The problem with fear is that it thrives on avoidance. I have been in sales for over three decades, I have seen most while projecting the sales numbers, try as much to...

The whole of this week I was in Mumbai meeting as many, as a follow on meetings with the people I met in Global Fintech Fest'23 (GFF'23), last month. I had almost twenty odd meetings this week, few resulted in business, few moved to the next level and in a few interesting conversations/opportunities came up. But getting these meetings required I had to be Resilient i.e I had to keep going even when getting these number of meetings was tough, I had to be Persistent in my approach i.e I just refused to give up on my follow ups with people I wanted to meet and I had to be Consistent in my reach out i.e I did it every day for over a month along with my team, without fail. Over the years I have realised that the world is indeed a challenging place. There will be setbacks and adversity along the way. But if we want to achieve our goals, we need to Stay Resilient, Stay Persistent, and Stay Consistent, Always. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from setbacks and adversity. It is ...

In today's article in a leading News Portal & Magazine *Swarajya* Myself & Rameesh Kailasam talk about the recent Women Reservation Bill that has the empowering potential to bring focus back to this important half of the population. It can also give a shot in the arm towards bringing together Government, Multilateral Institutions, Self Help Groups, CSRs, Industry, Startups, and Academia to the Goal of *Ab Har Bhartiya Nari Banegi Atmanirbhar*. Besides, we also talk about the altered Slogan "Beti Bachao, Beti Padao, Beti ko Swawlambi Banao", reflecting the push for girls to become Self-Reliant. *Swawlambi Betiyan*, puts forward succinctly that girls are valuable for the development of the country. More importantly, what needs to be undertaken is the step to empower all the women with literacy programs that lay emphasis around *Digital and Financial Awareness* which in turn will open up the path towards *Livelihoods* and Self-reliance. I personally believe having me...
