If you really want to do something, you will find a way of doing it. If you do not want to do something, you will find an excuse for not doing it!

Summary: This Sunday blog is about the power of will. It highlights that strong desire fuels solutions ("Where there's a will, there's a way"), while lack of will breeds excuses. The key takeaway: For what we crave, we innovate; for what we shun, we fabricate. Seek your priorities, silence inner demons, persist, stay focused, work hard - and make things happen. We all have heard this famous quote 'Where there is a Will there is a Way', which means that if there is a will to do something, we will find a way of doing it. This morning I received an inspirational story of a man who has been diagnosed with cancer and is going through the treatment, he completed his 100th Marathon. I believe he had this strong will to fight the disease and complete the Marathon, he could figure out a way to do it in spite of all the challenges. I think we all have our internal demons to fight when we are trying to do something and that's where the strong will and desire to find...

Life Well Lived!

Yesterday I lost one of my neighbours, Retired Major General Pran Nath Koul. Since I received this sad news, My mind has been working on remembering my interactions with him. He was a Very Positive Person and always Full of Life. He was a Nationalist and a Kashmiri by heart. He was the author of two books and conducted quite a few workshops to promote his books. He was always willing to listen to new Ideas and open to experiment with new ways of doing various things. He also participated in a few workshops organised by our Startup Jeevitam. I remember my discussions with him on how we can capture the rich experience of Senior citizens under the Banner 'Dada-Dai & Nana Nani ki Kahaniyan' and share it with the Youth of our country. He was liked by all in the society we live in and worked for its upliftment. I believe he Lived his Life Well. We all will miss him and may his Soul rest in peace. How can we call our Professional Life well Lived has been going in my mind? I have b...

It's Very Difficult to Do Something New!

Resistance to change is a common human trait, and it's particularly evident when it comes to trying something new. This was apparent in my recent conversation with an ex-colleague who had retired after over three decades of experience in the same field. Despite being out of work for almost a year, he was still hesitant to explore new opportunities, preferring to seek jobs within his area of expertise. His fear of failure, reluctance to learn new skills, and apprehension about the unknown were clear barriers to his professional growth. This aversion to change is not limited to individuals nearing retirement; it can be observed across various stages of our professional lives to Do Something New. As a Startupeneur, the drive to challenge the status quo and offer innovative solutions is a constant force. When reaching out to Corporations, the enthusiasm to present a different approach to solving their pressing problems is palpable. These established entities often seem receptive to hea...

Stay Humble, Work Hard, Always Hustle!

In the last few weeks I have attended a couple of Big Events wherein many Speakers from Industry came in to share their perspectives. Clearly, there were two sets of Speakers there, one who felt they had arrived in Life & were full of arrogance, while on the other side there were speakers who displayed Humility, a rare and admirable quality leaving a lasting impression on everyone present. This reinforced the notion in me, that true greatness is often accompanied by a profound sense of humility. No matter how accomplished or exceptional we may be, arrogance is a trait that often diminishes our likeability and appeal. I believe to become better versions of ourselves and be more endearing to others, we must consciously cultivate humility. It is not about seeing how important we can become, but rather how much of a positive difference we can make in the lives of others. Humility allows us to remain grounded, open-minded, and receptive to learning and growth, regardless of our accompli...
