Seize the Opportunity!

In our Startup Jeevitam, we have been spending some good time in the last few weeks planning our Revenue Strategy for the year 23-24. We are a Startup and we keep evolving our Strategy as we grow & scale up. This year we are focussing on the Social & Financial Inclusion of the Vulnerable Segments. While we keep the focus on being the 'Livelihood Partner for Life' for the Vulnerable Segments, we are also helping them with Financial/Digital Literacy and helping them access to Government Schemes through our Government Partner. This strategy has suddenly opened up a host of opportunities for us. We see the Budgets of the Central & State Governments, and we see opportunities for Jeevitam. We see advertisements of achievements of the State in a Newspaper, and we see opportunities for Jeevitam. We go and attend Seminars being organised by Industry Associations, and we see opportunities for Jeevitam. We believe it's on us now how to organise the resources, leverage ou...

Way to Learn - Read & Ask!

This week I gave a 50 Pages Policy Document to my Team for reading and sharing the key takeaways for our Startup Jeevitam. It took a lot of persistence from my side to make everyone from my Team go through the document. I realised somewhere in the new Digital World our attention span has reduced drastically. Most of us now read over mobile phones which are full of distractions. And somewhere as we progress in our age, we lose the art of reading as much. Besides, as a kid, we are quite inquisitive and accordingly, we ask a lot of questions from our parents, from everyone as we are not afraid of being judged. But as we grow, we stop asking as many questions as we start getting afraid of being judged. While in School & College, we are expected to Learn by reading the books assigned and asking questions from our Teachers & Professors. But as get into our life, we stop learning by reading & asking, we start learning from our experiences. I see nothing wrong with learning from ex...

Keep Simple Stupid!

This week while giving a demo of our Jeevitam Platform to one of our prospective clients, a key observation made by the client was that the platform designed by us was very simple and could be used by vulnerable segments easily. In three simple steps, work seekers could register for livelihood opportunities and it could be done at Scale. Keep it simple, stupid (KISS) is a design principle that states that designs and/or systems should be as simple as possible. Wherever possible, complexity should be avoided in a system—as simplicity guarantees the greatest levels of user acceptance and interaction. In Uber, we can book a taxi in three simple steps, similarly in Airbnb we can book a property in three simple steps. However, under the hood of both these platforms, there is complex technology working but from a user experience perspective it's very simple and stupid to use. The ability to simplify and make it look stupid means to eliminate the unnecessary so that necessary may speak. ...

Don't use Your Head when it comes to Your Heart!

This Sunday I happen to see a Movie 'Gulmohar' on the OTT Platform. It's one of the good movies seen in a long time. This movie is all about emotions, family & relationships. One of the dialogues which stuck with me was 'Don't use Your Head when it comes to Your Heart'. I think it's a phrase that is a reminder to trust our intuition and make decisions based on our feelings and inner guidance, rather than solely relying on logic and reason. When we listen to our hearts, we tap into a deeper sense of knowing that comes from within. It's a sense that can be difficult to put into words, but we all recognize it when we feel it. It's that feeling of being in the right place at the right time, of knowing that something is true without needing any external proof, and of feeling a deep sense of connection with the world around us. Listening to our hearts is about more than just following our emotions or making impulsive decisions. It's about learning...
